When we saw you had Cotgs, Bandits, Wolves, and Mercs all allied together along with DaveUKR going out west with 0 troops and coming back with exactly a 1000, we allied with the Blackrose and gave them Amere.

Either way had a whole lot of fun and most of the people I played with too. Good fight.

No offense to anyone but I do not see how this immature bickering benefits either side. Strategus is still only in Beta so again, I see little gain in taking it to the fullest, most serious extent.

I agree darkkarma...he is the best XBOW I have seen in cRPG(minus With_Stupid, if you forgive his running and hiding). All I asked is that he left my good name out of the flame. I give congrats. to all my opponents, not only for wins but also for the way they fight in losing efforts. Everyone that has played with me for a day knows I would never be negative or dishonorable. Since he took me out of it, I'm good...and the MERC's and their allies did fight very well in the last battle of the night. Would have said that to begin with if I didn't see my name with fire glowing around it. Thanks again for removing it...we have no beef then...I look forward to meeting skilled warriors on the battlefield again soon.

In Anwyl's defense, Mercenaries so far have been nothing but disrespectful and rude to us. The reason we are standing with BRD isn't because they are NA, but because they have been good friends and allies to us. We have nothing against EU clans just because we are NA, though it does seem the bonding is a bit more forced as we don't often get to play on the servers with eachother.
Granted, if we were EU judging from the conduct of your fellow member's on this forum and within the Strategus battles we have fought against them we would stand with BRD anyways. Sadly, it is difficult to see how they would treat us if we were not against them.

Ahh, this is a misconception. Let me clear things up for you as you seem to have been misinformed. First off, we may have attacked you first but just because we are battling someone in Strategus we didn't expect to be flamed and trolled by them.

HRE tried a flank attack, Mercs jumbed on occasion to attack their spawn, it was almost done, HRE got some luck and take back their spawn.

I'd like to thank everyone involved in last nights battles. The Mercs showes us what a determined, disciplined and good fighting village defender benefiting from terrain can do.
However, I'm really sad about people raging like mad in this thread. Why do people forget it's only a game? Now, RuConquista are attacking us without any DoW, so are they backstabbing us, too? So what? That's what this game is all about...

Of course this is a beta, it is a game, but people have memories. I guess what all you factions do to their own reputations is their business, and the Mercs did some fine work. Cannot really say the same for all those others involved though.

What kind of mercenaries hold large swaths of land? It's going to be impossible for you to be a neutral-for-hire clan when you're making a bunch of claims to fiefs and cities, then holding grudges when you're attacked. Why don't you just get rid of them and fight for people in exchange for money and troops?

But the time span (21:00 untill about 08:00 :shock:) was a bit excessive, as i'm sure you all agree.
I, for one, would love some limitations to what timeslots can be used, so clans aren't forced to fight at insane times that much. I hear that chadz might be working on that. So that's great news and i'm very happy about that! :)

Planning a battle at really awkward times, filling a roster, only to clear the roster out only minutes before a fight and show up with a few naked guys...
How is that not wasting people's time? Combined with timeslots like 3 AM and 5 AM, this is pretty grievous. The only way i know to describe this, is 'roster grieving'.
Note that i'm not commenting on any 'betrayal'.
Now, guys, i think any anger has cooled. Let's look back at the events from the last days and see if we can use them to improve future Strategus encounters, to ensure it remains fun for all those involved. It's a game after all.

They could pay money for them. That's typically what mercenaries go for. Tydeus doesn't have any holdings and has over 2000 troops.
Defiance is just starting out, and is selling themselves as a Mercenary Army. The Mercs are established, and are selling themselves as multiple Mercenary Legions where instead of hiring a legion, you can hire multiple and effectively if you have the money hire an entire nation worth of troops. This requires land.

Some things to say:
1. First battle was really cool. Sure we lost more tickets but probably most of attackers will need more tickets then defenders in future.
2. Second battle was silly. We tried to capture all spawns and probably this cant work if there are enough defenders regardless if they wear armor or not.
If they want to have a "nation" of troops, they're going to have to deal with all the shit a nation deals with. They're going to have enemies, they're going to have people plotting against them, and they have allies. With all this shit they kind of stop being mercenaries and start being a nation.
2 things you should have thought off before you tried backstabbing us. Splitting a 4k army.. and think you can take 2 villages of us easly. Seems a little cocky too me :wink:

A vassal is under the protection of his suzerain (sorry if those words weren't the good ones, mostly know it in french), meaning that if he went to war he'd have to ask his suzerain and get his support

Thank you gentlemen for the opportunity to fight beside you and train with you. I honestly think we are one of the most organized clans, and certainly the friendliest, that I have ever been in. It has been an absolute pleasure to fight beside you all on the battlefield, and to participate in the innovative tactics that we have developed like the indirect arrow rainstorm that we used in one of our strat battles. Also, thank you for teaching me how to block, as well as the other tips and tricks!
I wish you the best of luck in Strategus, and hope that the Scorpion flies high wherever you go. I will miss fighting beside those soldiers who don't even need a single word to work together.

Yes, thats what it seems. The Merc leadership say you were on their TS and that it was agreed you were in their lands but were not attacking them (at least from what I can gather from this thread). I find it quite unlikely that your army would have made it to their villages unmolested if they believed you to be a threat, the Mercs run a pretty tight ship.
