I liked rolling a lot in its old state and didn't see why it needed to be changed. No one ever pulled it off with 100% accuracy, and the easier input allowed for people with higher pings to also make use of it. It was never a guaranteed get out of jail free card either, since rolling on hills, into walls, or into other players would never get you far enough from any threat (not to mention holding any mouse buttons/wasd during input would mess it up). However I can see how it was arguably too easy/rewarding in its prior state. From what I recall, San cut the rolling distance in half. I would have preferred to see it cut down to 75% if anything, since at 50% you can't really escape much of anything. It would be neat if there could be an addition where rolling is easy to pull off, however a failed attempt makes your character get up slower, or something along those lines, that way there is some risk involved and maybe you don't always want to attempt a roll.

Also, I like how hard to roll now is. I was getting pretty annoyed by being able to retreat safely every single time. Now it's rewarding for both sides.

that's funny, i used to be able to roll 100% of the time before the nerf now i don't even bother trying because it never happens.

Didn't know there was a nerf. And there was me thinking I turned full retard after my leave cause I just cannot roll anymore.

Good to know the problem isn't on my end :D But it still is stupid.
What is the point in nerfing something so much, that only a selected minority can pull it off properly post-nerf?

Makes as much sense as giving 20+ damage weapons only to the best 20 people.
For all the non-believers, look no further than this thread for proof that while strat battles are won/lost in NA3/EU3, strat wars are won and lost on the forums.

I can still pull it off most of the time, but I can't recall a single time it has helped me after the nerf.
I voted Gurnisson cause of his fucking bendy pike, I swear noone can roflcopter stab like he can.

I fully support this, with my variable ping it's almost impossible to pull off when it spikes and if I do pull it off it offers no real benefits.  I pretty much consign myself to death if knocked down by a competent player who has an understanding of the kick mechanic.

Double clicking a button is considered complicated? Sheesh. Actually, it could be slightly more convenient to use i agree, but the double click + timing does make it slightly harder to use which is imo nice, as long as it works well.

People complained about old kick. Why they didn't change it to some button sequence to make it harder? Because it sucks, it is control scheme originating from consoles because they have limited amount of keys so have to create combo schemes to make up for it. On PC that should not exist, period.
