Title: More heraldic armors

I am currently working on transforming more armors into a heraldic version. Let me know what you think of these so far:

ugh what an ugly banner to use them off with though!

what armors are those in cRPG though?  1st one is ...i dont even know? 2nd one is Tabard?

I support your efforts, could use some cloth & leather armor level heraldic

I used this banner, because you can clearly see how the heraldic region is positioned on the mesh. One problem I still have is that they look a bit "washed out". Maybe my transparency settings are not optimal yet, gotta tinker with the stuff a bit still.

The shirt is called "Linen Tunic" in cRPG. The tabard is, well, the tabard :).

Mind giving us a WIP version so we can check it out? It might be your graphics settings that make them looked "washed out". Also, I play with low settings. Wondering how they will look then :P

Had to use negative positions on this one, because otherwise, the banner would end up on the back :shock:. Took me a while to figure out.

You can see the "washed out"-issue well on this one, at the bottom seam of the heraldic area. The tassels or whatever you call them are not defined enough.

As a Fallen I have to say no to more heraldic armors... Never liked heraldic that much even before joining to be honest... Nice work though.

No offense, but if Fallen had any say on what gets in and what not...this mod would be quite different, I think.

Would the mamluke mail be a viable heraldic shirt?

I mean changing the circle of the chest into a heraldic area tough might be small. Maybe the banner could still show only the lion instead of everything to make an example on your shirt.

I always loved it's looks apart of the circle on the chest.

This "circle" is called a mirror. It's the most important part of the armor, and should be well polished, as the brighter it shines, the better it protects the wearer from evil. Never would a wearer of such an armor paint over the mirror.

Doesn't look much like a mirror but I doubt It could work out anyway.

Anyway to stay on topic in my opinion the tunic over mail could be the best "light" heraldic armour.

Yeah I'm probably going to do that, too, as I use the white tunic over mail quite frequently myself. I plan to convert these armors, from lightest to heaviest:

- Linen Tunic (Shirt) and/or White Tunic
- Tabard
- Gambeson and/or Padded Cloth
- White Tunic over Mail
- Light Mail and Plate
- Coat of Plates
- Mail and Plate

If you have suggestions for other armors to convert, feel free to post them. Note that I can't really draw, though, so stuff without a plain front will probably not work.

These are awesome! We have been sorely lacking in light heraldic armours, hopefully the all mighty chadz will implement these.

But before you go making a heraldic version of the tunic over mail;
I think you will find that the Heraldic Mail armour in fact uses the exact same model as the Tunic over Mail, yet its stats are better.

Maybe chadz should just change the stats and name of the Heraldic Mail to that of the Tunic over Mail armours.

Here is the improved mail and plate, you can clearly see how the ornate thingies at the bottom of the heraldic area are much more defined now:

I like banners, I like more heraldy, cause the heaviest one is too heavy for my taste and the one before it is too light. This looks pretty good.

Don't you have other things to do :). But seriously, you will probably have to redo them anyway, when you do the loomed versions. You are actually an artist, while I am just a monkey clicking some buttons at random, until something turns out better than it was before (progress through random incremental steps).

i would fit nicely they are not armor clad nobles it would fit seeing how some of the shields that show banners are faded and chipped i think it would look great

I like the idea of heaving a heraldig light armour, but it shouldn't be a shirt. Rather something with the stats of padded armor or something

Zagibu this is like a shameful attack on your freetime but might it be possible to change some of the really cool
shields that arent heraldic yet to a heraldic version.
I bet a lot of people would love some different kind of heraldic shields.

Personally i would be most interested in:
Blue and Purple Kite Shield
Brown Kite Shield
Black and White Kite Shield
Brown Heavy Norman Shield

(for sure others like green crescent heater or brown lion heater shield would give cool heraldics too but they are not my favorites)

@devs: if zagibu is doing this i would love to see some more speed 95-100 shields.

I like those shields very much and am crying all the time they arent heraldic.

It's certainly possible. However, you have probably already guessed from the lack of updates, that my freetime is a bit limited at the moment. I'll see what I can do, and I might also write down my process, so other people could help. Basically, I'm doing it as described here: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,121012.0.html The actual process of creating the textures is not described there, though.

If you plan on making an armor in between heraldic mail with tabard and heraldic transitional, than I +1, more heraldics make it easier to wear banners you want want to be seen so I'm all for it

No, sorry, I'm working hard during the week (working hard on earning money, that is, not working hard on cRPG additions). I will post a tutorial this weekend, so others may be able to support me. I might also post a test mod, so you guys can check out the work i've done (although I think you will only partially like it...art is not my strong side). And lastly, I will give shields another try this weekend.

I am sorry to inform you that the gambeson has the same problem as the coat of plates, meaning that it has only half a texture that is mirrored to the other side. This makes it impossible to add a banner, unfortunately (see coat of plates screenshot above).

I've got to agree on this one, more heraldic armors are really needed, maybe same stats would be great or more armors designed for heraldical use would make sense.. It makes sense in a historical way too if u are interested on "roleplaying".. anyway +1 from me!, maybe not needed for all armors to be heraldic but like 5 more heraldic armors would be great..

I've always thought Tabard should be heraldic because, after all, the tabard is the coat worn by a herald. I also think Tourney Armour should be heraldic because presumably it's what a knight would wear at a tourney. I don't think changing many other armours is necessarily a good idea - heraldic Skirmish Armour or Aketon makes no sense.
