Wow man, different designs for heirlooms of the dagger look awesome, and I really, really love that idea! It'd add more flavor to heirloom/gear choice, for sure!
If you quadrupled the number of models and textures, I wouldn't be able to load the mod with textures on demand turned off. This would make me very sad and my GPU would fall ill.
I'm afraid we are already using too many textures, but I'm pretty sure by optimizing the ones we have and removing the ones we don't use many more would fit.
but how can you find out which graphics aren't used?
Is there something like an tracker for images or can you just go into the windows explorer and sort by last used ^^ ?

I think that 98% of the players tend to not heirloom the low tier equipment.i am 2% :mrgreen:
Otherwise I like the accessories like the medal and the purse, it gives an indication of the wealth of this peasant. Adding embroded drawings around the collar ans sleeves would be nice as to show that the tunic is of a higher quality. I am not found of the banner because it gives a military look and the tunic should remain a civil, peasant cloth even though it belongs to tje Elder of the village.
Hate to be a downer, but that dagger and those pitchforks look like something straight out of Conan the Barbarian. Also don't understand the gold, diamonds and the engrave, its supposed to be battle equipment, so it should look more sturdy and powerful rather than more fancy and blingy.
Also the menu items have too much contrast IMHO, and they are way too bright, specially the icons, The transparent ones we have now are much cleaner looking.

it's awesome, but you hsould have the oppotunity to use ie. the 'regular' look even if you have the mw item (you mgiht like it better, or maybe it fits your style)

Brilliant idea and really nice artworks. Though I have concerns;
*I really wonder how will the item texture pack size shall handle all these models. Would there be an easy way to incorporate the heirloom textures without requiring additional files ( Concerned about this, because I've heard of an items limit, which the dev. team has spoken of )
* Assuming that previous problem is solvable, would you be willing to re-model all the items in the game? Will this feature restrict players to design and suggest new items to the game? I mean, will they have to also design the heirloomed textures too ?

I still don't get why all heirloom level 3 items need gold on them because that will make me not use this pack.

Works fine for me, awesome pack. My +2 knightly arming sword looks beautiful, and this pack is making me want to grind my socks off to get a full set of +3 items.
I can't wait for horses and armour, I'd like to see how you would do horses especially.
Also crash using this. Can sometimes join spectator and it seems the pack is working. But whenever I click my name after joining a faction I instantly crash. Tried loading without any heirlooms myself, to see if that was the problem, but still crashes.
Everything on highest settings, HDR turned off.

It works well for me, but sadly, only few people have loomed 1h...I still kept crashing and I even have a loomed 1hander :( Had to uninstall it. Sad Jarlek is sad :(
How to Install:
- put "finalboss_1h.brf" in "modules/crpg/resource" folder
- put the textures in "crpg/textures"
- Make a backup copy of "crpg/item_kinds1.txt" and paste the new one from the .zip
- edit "crpg/module.ini" and add the line "load_mod_resource = finalboss_1h" right below the line "load_mod_resource = kazakh_armor"
- report back!

feedback: for some reason with the mw long espada eslanova you can only overhead and side swing stabs don't seem to work and i have no idea why

I do own a MW one handed, not sure if that can be part of the problem. Taking it off my equipment screen on the site to try and spawn with something else does not solve the problem though.
Yes, make sure to delete the line "load_mod_resource = finalboss_1h" in the \module.ini file as well as the finalboss_1h.brf file in the \Resouces folder (won't need those anymore). I dunno, but I'm pretty sure a real flamberge or sword would weigh more than they do in cRPG (Unless weight is kg, of course xD)
But really. a 185cm long (actually longer since the extra length behind the lowest hand) stick isn't that hard to stab with. Just take a normal mop or something and try to do some stabs with it. It's really not difficult and personally I can (without armour and no metal on the stick) stab much faster than what they do ingame. Doing quick stabs isn't that hard.
Also, the flamberge, and a lot of the other weapons ingame, is actually a bit short to what they really were. A zweihander was up to 180cm long. One of the few that are longer ingame than what they really were is the Katan, which is 95cm ingame, but which actually are only 60-75cm long. Some "long" katanas are found in the 75-90cm range, but they weren't the standard length. Actually the classification for a Nodachi is that it is longer than 90cm. Really silly that the ingame katana is then 95cm and thus technically a Nodachi xD

Spears in special is much shorter ingame than what they were historically. Most (medieval, military, infantry) spears were 1.8-2.5m, longer than that would be considered pikes. The long spear got the long spears of the side covered (it's 2.45m), but the normal warspears are very short. The warspear, for example, is only 1.5m long ingame. Way too short. But the biggest difference between ingame and reality is the glaive I think (not that I would have a longer glaive ingame! Longer spears, hell yeah! Longer glaive? Fuuuu-!). Ingame the glaive is 1.6m ingame, while the real versions were usually a blade, around 45 cm long, on the end of a pole usually 2m long. In total 2.45m. Same as the long spear!
One of the few that are longer ingame than what they really were is the Katana, which is 95cm ingame, but which actually are only 60-75cm long. Some "long" katanas are found in the 75-90cm range, but they weren't the standard length. Actually the classification for a Nodachi is that it is longer than 90cm. Really silly that the ingame katana is then 95cm and thus technically a Nodachi xD
Weapon length doesn't give the real length of the weapon, it only gives the weapon's length from where you're holding it, at least for polearms, so the weapon's real length is usually 20-30cm more than what the game says. The best example of this is the quarter staff. It's got a 137 length, but the weapon itself is actually about as long as an awlpike (165 length).Check the post before the one you quoted. You have no specular shaders active? Anyway, it seems finalboss forgot to put the loomed 1h mesh names in the item_kinds1.txt file. You can fix that manually, by adding "_h1", "_h2" etc. to the end of all corresponding loomed 1h mesh entries, but it's a lot of work.Heh, wanna upload the text file until he fixes it? ;)

I made programm (on C#) for my crpg submod http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,23362.0.html (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,23362.0.html) which can parse item_kinds1.txt and replace items and models automatically. After every crpg update i just run it and my submod works again. I can make programm which will correctly install your mod. It will parse item_kinds1.txt, module.ini and copy resource and textures. It will have progress bar and screenshots. For update your mod you will need just edit two xml files.
Like this:
1st xml with models:
<model id="new_masterwork_sword"/>
<model id="new_another"/>
....
<model id="new_another100500"/>
2nd xml with replaces:
<replace_item from="Masterwork Sword" to="new_masterwork_sword" />

EDIT: I installed the mod and right away noticed that picking up non loomed highland claymore gives you claymore on the back with nodachi in hands.It is bug, and i fix it. Thanks for reporting.
It seems you only have the two-hand heirloom models in this, is there anyway you can put in what Final_Boss has done into one for now?One hand heirloom in this too, but not all.
I would also like to have only the heirloom package. As good as the installer and mods might be, no offence, I'm not comfortable running executables from unknown source. I have quite many mods in c-rpg already and wouldn't like to start repairing the folder in case something is wrong. Could you add a link to heirloom pack without installer? Fixed items.txt will do also.It is possible if anyone run programme on his computer and then publish item_kinds1.txt. You also can just buckup item_kinds1.txt, and then replace it if you want to uninstall heirloom models.

I had a few custom models of my own myself, its easy to do you once you learn to ctrl+f that mess that is the item kinds file and copy paste the right thign at the right place.It's easy if you have only few models to replace. But if there are hundreds of them ctrl+c ctrl+f ctrl+v is hours of boring work. And don't forget, that you must repeat it after every crpg update.

I tried running the sub-mod installer, but it gets an error saying that part of a path cannot be found:

Downloaded the 1h and 2h packs and there are some pretty nice retextures.What's the point of making them look historically accurate if the gameplay isn't even remotely close to how it is in real life.
I'd be upset if these were all absorbed by c-rpg proper though, because personally, the texture sharing is far too extreme and less personally, there are quite a lot of historical inaccuracies.
This submod is great and there's clearly a huge amount of work involved, but there is also an enormous amount of work in producing the OSP items that c-rpg makes use of. All are meticulously researched and most have unique, hand drawn textures. This work has been spread over many people and no one could expect a single person to produce three times the textures at the same standard, but the fact remains that there is a standard.
I hope the retextures will be judged on an individual basis, with the same standard as any item proposed for c-rpg, if not a higher standard, since players have already invested in the affected equipment and the retextures are technically replacing current textures.
Having said that, I'll be using a couple of the item retextures and I really look forward to the armour packs. :D

Huge difference between having game mechanics that are made for balancing rather than realism and items that do not fit the overall looks.hope this will be the case, but I think exactly this about the bows - they do not fit. The problem is of course that you cannot make options for every different style of textures.
I like the stuff but i personally never would use items that got gold on them, might just end up changing those textures for myself so they are less flashy.
So far i did not hear plans of forcing people to use this whole pack.
Nothing speaks against adding the as an option in the launcher though as soon as we find a good solution for that.
The bows made it in because they are kinda accurate i think.
Still looking forward to the rest of it, excited about the polearms, if they rock it might be the first pack i install although i am kinda happy with my own german poleaxe reskin :mrgreen:

I used this when it first came out for 1 handers. Then a patch came out and it no longer functioned properly... Does it work ok in the current version of the game? Ashwood pike has the model of GLB.It's my bug, and there were some another. I fixed it.
Some look awesome, some look bad imo.
As someone you primarily uses the Great Long Axe the change in shaft color and those predetermined breaking points on it, as well as the low quality blade texture kinda makes it something that keeps me from using this.
I like the changes on some other weapons where the blades look more detailed.
Still uninstalling again for now.
Actually i will switch to the german poleaxe again for now cause that one looks sweet, blade has also some weird look to it though :(

I would have liked combat weapons that just look like they are of higher quality, better steel, reinforced parts (this actually is the case on some).
He is more going for the decorative - ritual weapon style which i can not really appreciate to look at in a game that is all about smashing other people's heads in with weapons that got damaged to a unusable state quite often back then.

Obviously you would not put two thick steel plates on a sword to make the weapon better.
You would get one of better quality.
You could change the color and detail of the metal, make the blade look sharper, make it look a bit polished but without adding all that fancy decorative stuff.
Why would i want my sword's handguard to be gold even if i try to imagine it's just gold coated it does not fit my view of a medieval battlefield.
For hafted weapons like axes/maces and polearms, reinforcing specific parts like the ones you would mostly try to block with or like he already did i.e to the German Poleaxe, reinforcing parts that would most likely have to withstand the most force on a successful hit would make sense and looks nice.

Love the Long Maul, still like the German Poleaxe mostly, dislike the Great Long Axe in the middle because i see no point in carving and reducing the hilt diameter at multiple points (on both)
These things are made to endure really strong forces on impact and you would want them to be usable in combat as long as possible.
As i said before, don't get me wrong.
By now i am used to it and play with the pack and i will most likely just do slight adjustments to the textures for my personal taste.
For me it's just more into a WoW direction than the way this mod is aiming for which is why i was a bit disappointed.
Since no one is forced to use it there is no problem at all and and i will repeat i am looking forward to see the rest of it.

But seriously, the GLA is one of the few polearms that actually look like a masterpiece on level 4. Most of the others are just...bland.
And how is that different from having them look from semi decent to super high quality material wise without making the use of gold and ornaments.

From what i got so far, no.
A lot of people can not handle the extra textures without load textures on demand enabled.
Stuff that fits the overall setting might get added like the bow models.
We hope we can add an option to the launcher at some point so you can just check a box and it will automatically install the pack for you.
Same would be great for the banner packs and stuff.
With this enabled, I see a lot of the unloomed polearms bright orange, is this intended, or am i missing some textures?

I would like the yellow color in the polearm hafts to be toned down a bit. Just less yellow saturation and slightly darkened.

Awesome mod! =) Just something I found, if you have a Nodachi in your hands, the scabbard looks like a white empty space. I don't know if this has been reported earlier, haven't read the whole thread..Yes, screenshot and item_kinds1.txt if it possible.

I like the idea and like the color on the +0 polearms but they really jump out from the other model textures too much. Same way the kazakh outfit and the priest robes do, especially at night times. Most do not notice but it really disturbs me. Meow's pack was a definite improvement on pole shaft colors. I still do think gilded parts suit two and one-handers , they weren't actually that hard to see in courtly places.

This is pretty much similiar to GLA masterwork which is quite cool looking. I think I'll keep this Heirloom model mod running because it helped me ingame. When the wooden handle of the long awlpike is not dark, I as a lancer can see it far away even in the dark which was an issue for me earlier because those damn owlpikes were so stealthy and surprising :D. I hope you didn't take my last comment personally FinalBoss. I admit it sounded bitter, but now when I tried this ingame, I kinda like it because it is also practical to see fast which heavy lance is loomed and which is not when I loot them from dead horsemen :D.

Im positive I did the right directory. When I selected my cRPG folder and ran the installer it said,"Installation complete with errors."I updated install.exe. Now it makes buckup automatically and writes log to the txt file. Try to install it again, then go to crpg folder, then to folder Buckup/DateTimeOfInstall. Open log.txt file, copy all text and paste it in this topic. Then i will look at it.

i'm saying this, because i'm a little bit afraid of that everybody would look now like uber decorated knight. there are only very few people who have no looms - from this point of view if everybody will have a super looking equipment it kinda looses sense of uniqueness.
so i'd rather suggest that you can loom your weapon up to 6 times, while 3 first looms improve stats only and next 3 looms improve looks only. i think not everybody would loose 31 lvls of experience only to get better looking weapons, thuss it would be assured that not so many people look "unique". if u have the guts to reset your char 6 times only to get 1 super looking weapon, than yeah you are totally crazy and you really deserve that great looking axe.

Even with this, someone would just redo the textures so they show up on the first three levels. At that point looming the new 3 would do absolutely nothing but waste points. In a game that's as easily moddable as this one, anything where people have to do a lot of work just to look a certain way is going to fail.

just wanted to say, that some people are able to do EVERYTHING just for better looks ingame (loose job, gf, life... :)). and i don't think there is big difference between mmos and this mod - in both there are people that play it really A LOT.
but specialy this doesn't really matter in the end - i really like these new models. i really do, but i'd like them to be really unique (not that everyone will have them). this is the basic point of my suggestion.
and i don't care how this will be achieved. of course if majority of others would like to see everybody that has looms with diamond on a sword, than i can't do nothing but to adjust to the wishes of majority (or devs).

This isn't possible anyway. The game loads textures based on the item type, there are no secondary checks in place. Therefore everyone's items will look identical as long as they are the same type.Are you really sure about that. +3 item could never use the texture which Final_Boss has put to regular item? The only way to do it would be to make a new item type for every heirloom level of every item, then give people the option to load one or the other in game, via the website. Essentially it would be a lot of work on the dev's end for very little benefit. So, yes it IS technically possible, but personally I'd rather see the devs put that effort into something more important.Well there is some work for development when they are bored and not having other things to do :mrgreen:.

Problem with nodachi is in mesh or texture, cause i try to use +1 model and its looks normal. Question to Final Boss. But for a while i have returned nodachi +0 models to old crpg models.I updated install.exe. Now it makes buckup automatically and writes log to the txt file. How would I go about making the +1 Longsword texture be the texture for all longswords as I think it is the best looking and would rather see the
+1 texture.

The crpg patch added a scabbard for the longsword, but they're all default and not using the loom pack, and when the sword is sheathed the hilt looks default too even if it's loomed.There is no scabbard models for longsword in Finall Boss's resourse file. So i cant add them to installer.

It's the system. He is doing EVERYTHING, and how would you feel that he has done armors first? There would be whole lot of armors undone, all that got added in last patch.Anyway there is no mw new armour so that doesent matter.
Final Boss, just a suggestion when you do get around to armor: don't change the armor textures themselves, just add jewelry/accessories like pouches, necklaces, belts, bracers, capes, etc (like all the cool stuff on the Byrnja). Categorize the armors into a few general groups, like European, Persian, Germanic, Russian, Asian, etc. Then just use the same accessories for all armors of each group, maybe with different colors to match the existing textures.
Otherwise, armors will take you over a year!
This is exactly what I'll be doing. coming up with three different high-res textures would absolutely kill the lower-end pc players anyways. But I'm glad you're already on board!
fyi, throwing has been sent over to warham, already started on crossbows/bolts.
Hopefully there aren't too many problems with throwing (didn't test all of them before sending them over) but we'll be able to try them all out soon! 8-)

Ok this mod fully installs, everything checks out, I run the install as administrator as well. Have tried redownloading and reinstalling and repairing the cRPG folder. To no end I can't get the mod to show up in game. Is there anything I need to enable? My game is on steam, I've used someone else's whole cRPG folder and replaced mine with it and still no luck.If your using steam, you have to browse for the cRPG folder in your steam folder.

Also i added alternative more dark textures for Final_Bosses work. You can check/uncheck it in insaller. It takes from me about 20 minutes in photoshop. Select color range -> desaturate ) I made it cause some players don't use this pack only cause they don't like bright colors and gold on weapons. It's only for test. If people will like idea with alternative textures and Final_Boss will not against it i will include it in next versions of installer.

Not at all. It doesn't affect performance by more than 5%, I'm fairly certain of that. You did a very good job.

He is doing the categories with least items first. Also, he is not doing foot armor at all, because boots stink.Check the OP. He stated on shields (5%) and then put them further down on the list or something. I'm just wondering if he has any problems with them (possibly heraldics)

One other little thing I noticed earlier today as well that the scabbard on the longsword is the default (which is totally fine with me, don't want to complain or anything), but when you sheathe the longsword it reverts to the old model once it's in the scabbard.

But I'm having trouble trying to install the heirloom mod.
I have both the steam version and the non-steam version as I play the napoleonic war DLC, so I downloaded the 1.143 installer and did it that way for my non-steam version.
Next I followed your instructions to the letter, but when I try to install it to my C:/Programfiles(x86)/mount&bladewarband/modules/cRPG/ (the non-steam version)
the installer shows "label 1" stops, and then goes "cRPGsubmodsinstaller has stopped working"

One thing that was nice about them when I was running them though was the HORSE SOUNDS! You could actually hear them coming as they sounded like big thundering warhorses and not a pony ride at the petting zoo. So that would be a nice thing to add to this mod.
I was planning on adding those horse sounds tonight actually 8-) Might tone them down just a little bit though.

Crossbows are invisible for me and some long axes are plain white...So... any ideas why crossbow disappear when I install the package? Never happened before so I think it might be patch-related...
I had invisibility problem this morning after the new hotfix.In my defense, I used the repair function 2 times to get it fixed but I didnt delete the whole folder. Gonna do that when I get home. Thanks for the info...
You have to delete whole cRPG folder, than install it again using launcher, and than install the loom pack.
In future, just keep your unedited cRPG folder backed up somewhere so you don't have to redownload it again.
Try running launcher with "repair" option, and try reinstalling pack afterwards.
OR
If you still experience problems, delete whole cRPG folder, and reinstall it, than install the pack.
Like I said many times before, almost every cRPG patch/hotfix will ruin the pack. You have to do this after every cRPG update.

This is only the case if you did not repair/reinstall whole crpg after every small patch/hotfix, and than install loom pack.That is not correct. Last time I pointed this problem out I indeed did not delete the crpg folder.

Does anyone have a way to make bolts visible when you shoot em? I hadn't tried crossbow without this mod, but I heard it makes them harder to see if not invisible compared to without the mod.Easy to see the bolts mid air, harder to see them on the ground, but if their on walls their pretty visible.

I have merged Final Boss sound pack with current version. Sounds should be working properly. Download sound pack from the 1st post and copy the Sound folder into your cRPG folder. Back-up your sounds.txt file (located in cRPG folder), and copy sounds.txt i fixed to the cRPG folder.Works great with latest version. Thanks!

I've tried the new DL links and they don't seem to work with the current version. Like all the crossbows are invisible.Other than a few warning messages about duplicate materials/meshes at startup, I haven't seen anyting wrong with matt2507's version.
what about this horses, i see none new textures hereArmors, shields, and horses haven't even been done. I can understand it if no one ever does armors because it could ruin the look of your favorite armor piece with a new texture.

It tried to gimme a virus when it redirected me somewhere! But tried again and it didn't redirect me so it worked, but just be careful.

Are the red errors that pop-up on launch an issue?naaah, that is normal, i have that issue since start.
If you get invisible models tick repair in launcher and start crpg. Quit the game than reapply the pack.
If this does not work, just delete whole crpg folder and run launcher again. Afterwards reapply the pack.
It will work 100%
Do you see arrows for weapons? All I did was repair the game, then reinstall the heirloom pack. It works for me.

When i install all 3 kind of packs old weapons work fine, but polearms are invisible
