sad day that Mr. Clarkson is leaving, i always liked the topgear episodes.  The whole thing seems a little blown out of proportion, as if they were just waiting for absolutely anything to get rid of him.

He was warned several times tho. And he was nearly done already once but he apologized and got back on.
So, he kinda had it coming.

Still sad. TopGear is imho one of the best shows that were ever made for TV. I love it.
But it's either with Clarkson or not at all. He is TopGear.

I'm curious to see if the BBC is going to present a new host or if they just gonna drop it.
And what happens to all the footage they've already shot for the current season?

Guess time will tell...

if they put up that footage, they will have to continue paying him royalties for all the earned income.  Honestly, they have a difficult choice to make, and they are going to lose money either way, and not just pennies, millions upon millions.

Thing is most of the time he was 'warned' was relating to incidents that never made it into the final cut and were not aired but leaked to the press and blown out of proportion. As far as I'm concerned people can say whatever the fuck they like. It's up to the editors to cut any questionable footage. Which they did (bar the regular jokes about every country in the world including UK).

Similar thing here. Something that could have been dealt with simply internally has been massively blown wide open by the media.

Oddest thing about it. Clarkson reported himself for this incident. The producer didn't. Almost seems as if he was trying to get himself sacked. Perhaps there are offers on the table already as others would have known his contract was up at the end of the series anyway.

It wouldn't surprise me if Sky jumped all over this and were already planning a show of their own. BBC have likely lost out big time as Clarkson and the other 2 were what made Top Gear the show it was.

I'm not watching Top Gear without the Clarkson-May-Hammond dynamic; It just wouldn't be Top Gear anymore.  I'm sure the BBC doesn't give two shits about its American viewership but I'd imagine that there are a lot of viewers on the other side that feel the same way I do about this.

Well, guess there's no reason to watch BBC-America anymore.
WSE2 gives us the key to a wonderful world of butthurt...

Not only America. It's watched all round the world. I know many in India for example who avidly follow it and are just as disappointed. The presenter dynamic is one of the main draws.

Yep, I agree.
Over time they just developed so many inside stories and jokes that you kinda felt you know them even personally.
TopGear was/is a big family.

I actually hope it continues somewhere else with the same people. Clarkson alone isn't the same, obvious when watching one of his DVDs. Still entertaining but simply not as good.
I don't really where it airs as long as I get my TopGear fix a day later by download :D

For having tried driving cars in Just Cause 2, this is so true. Berenger probably loves it.
