Man, now that's weird.

You have about 2x better specs than me (and I'm using a dying back-up HDD from 2004), and you have these problems.

Let's see if those methods help you, then I'll think further.

netmeter is a useless program if you are running vista or 7, they have built in programs to do it. hell it could even be causing network problems.

I'd also disable any security software you have and see what happens.  TrendMicro & Microsoft security essentials are about the only userful ones out there, if you dont have either of them, it could be your security software fucking with game.

task manager > performance tab > resource monitor

sort networking by total bytes/second to see if something is using your connection

I would check your programs for 'pando media booster' which is a notorious game download streamer that ends up using your connection like a bit torrent and rapes your ping.

It's in your documents, and not the "main" warband directory.

Hahaha. I forgot that steam updated warband today and also changed the file back to the buffer size of 15.
So the laggs probably occured after it got switched back to 15.

Seems like it get's changed back to 15 after/before every start of the game. Has nothing to do with the steam-update.
Is there any way to prevent that? Or do i have to change it every time before i start the game? ._.

Right click on warband properties on steam -> updates -> disable automatic updating.

Well...after playing some time with a different buffer size...it didnt helped at all.  :(
Maybe those hours without laggs were just random.

I'm a hopeless case, i guess.

Alright, so I was having the same problem everyone else was having with these lag spikes. I fixed it.
Here's how:

Don't use Steam.

Go to TaleWorld, download the non-Steam version. Install and there you go. Worked for me, anyway!

try a verify file integrity on your Steam warband and play it a bit, see what happens.

Yeah, been there, done that.

I just had my first crash on the non-Steam copy though. It wasn't the C++ crash, either, but instead the newest one where the audio loops and screen flips between two frames.
