Most of you probably remember this http://forum.melee.org/general-discussion/remove-flamming-katana/

I managed to get my hands on a Flaming Katana and the devs removed it from my inventory after not long. Later I managed to get another one. I let it rot and dry in my inventory for 10 months, until recently. I got bored and decided to put it up for auction.

The rest explains itself really. I'm sorry for the mess it caused.

Game Balance Discussion / Flambard needs a small buff

Now that we have an active balancing team I think this issue needs to be adressed. Ever since the Flambard was added its stats have been quite bad and I can't seem to find a reason why that is. Maybe I am overlooking something, if so then please let me know.

Pretty much any top-tier 2H is better than Flambard atm. Its stats are just bad.

And if that wasn't enough. The Flambard has the same problem as the Katana when it comes to its stab. Its pretty much useless, unless its MW, but even then its still pretty bad.

Its pretty much a crappy version of the SoW or the Claymore.

That's it. I'm sick of all this "Masterwork Bastard Sword" bullshit that's going on in cRPG right now. Katanas deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine katana in Japan for 2,400,000 Yen (that's about $20,000) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid steel with my katana.
Japanese smiths spend years working on a single katana and fold it up to a million times to produce the finest blades known to mankind.
Katanas are thrice as sharp as European swords and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a longsword can cut through, a katana can cut through better. I'm pretty sure a katana could easily bisect a knight wearing full plate with a simple vertical slash.
Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered conquering Japan? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Samurai and their katanas of destruction. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted the men with the katanas first because their killing power was feared and respected.

So what am I saying? Katanas are simply the best sword that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in cRPG. Here is the stat block I propose for Katanas:
(Wakizashi)
+31 Speed
+48 Pierce
+22 Cut

(Katana)
+43 Speed
+36 Pierce
+75 Cut


Now that seems a lot more representative of the cutting power of Katanas in real life, don't you think?
tl;dr = Katanas need to do more damage in cRPG, see my new stat block.

Then a new map comes and we are on the same team and he seeks me out and hits me. I report him and he keeps hitting me. An enemy approaches and starts to hit Alighar, but he still finishes me off instead of focusing on the enemy. Afterwards I told him that I would report him for it and he said that he didn't realise that I was a friendly until after I was dead.

Game Balance Discussion / Should the bow be rebalanced?

Do you feel that the bow, since it has been made 2 slot, does not have it's place in crpg because people still go for rus and long bow? Even before it was underused because of its low damage, and it was mostly a trolling weapon. Do you think that the new stats make it balanced considering that biggest balancing factor is upkeep? It can't be used on horseback and it is two slot. I think it should be made one slot and have it's draw speed reduced to 56, like rus bow.

I am not the best at making persuasive topics or post, so I will make this short.

Please bring back Xmas-cRPG. It didn`t go long before it died last time it was here because most people simply didn`t enjoy it, but I know that many people still miss the old days and would love to play the old cRPG again. I am not sure if the devs still have the ability to bring it back, but if they do then I ask of them to do so.
