... and all the other things floating around out there / DS 2 blue skirt?
« on: February 22, 2015, 12:39:35 am »
Anyone here knows where can I find a blue skirt in dark souls 2? I want to play as Saber from fate/stay night, but all I can find are trousers...

Just because they are filthy rich? I have heard that people like Angelina Jolie (not a title of knight, but a title of noble), Shawn Connery or Ringo Starr get awarded with such title, yet there are countless people walking earth, that fight danger and help those in need like fire fighters, doctors fighting diseases in foreign countries, or soldiers helping the victims of natural disasters, yet those people are ignored, just because they do their job?

I mean yeah many actors give great sums to charity, which is why Shawn Connery or Angelina Jolie getting recognized as such doesnt seem like wrong, but still, Donating money is one thing, going into a burning building, knowing it may fall apart any second, just to save the people in danger inside, is another.

Any thoughts on that?

Like seriously? Hold LMB to keep attacking? Even state of decay has better combat than this. I really had high expectations considering it was in develompment for 3 years, but honestly this sucks. They went all the trouble to remove the ''on rails'' ascepct of the previous games by adding physics and jumping, only to forget about combat like that. It is almost as if they were like they went in the right direction, then said ''fuck it, lets just copy the previous games regarding combat''.

Shame on you EA...

General Off Topic / New PC soon.
« on: December 18, 2014, 09:46:46 am »
So, since the internet shops around the world dont seem to offer neither the processor I wrote about few days ago, nor do they ship deliver to P.O (newegg does not even ship to europe, those goddamned bastards), I decided to build completely new pc from scratch. with the exclusion of OS, RAM sticks and HDD, my price went down by a nice sum, so this is what ill probably be buying:

Case: Corsair carbide series 300R
CPU: AMD vishera FX-6300
MoBo: ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3
GPU: MSI R9 270
PU: Corsair CX600
Ram: N/A
HDD N/A

Anyone has any suggestions to make this better?

Currently playing this, great game so far. It is a hybrid of real time, and turn based JSRPG. You have a number of command points you can spend on controling your units and issuing orders (those are special abilities that have widespread use, for example, temporary stats increase, or calling an air strike). The graphics hold up pretty well, just dont expect some kind of max payne 3-like goodness, this game is styled as a watercolor painting in motion, with anime-ish 3d cell shaded models. It has a pretty good story, set in fictional europe during the WW2. The main protagonist is a student named Welkin Gunther, a son of great WW1 tank commander from a country called Gallia, who surprisingly has completely different idea of life than his late father. Gallia is unfortunately caught in the middle of conflict between two great superpowers, The Imperial Aliliance, and Atlantic federation.

The whole world depends on a multipurpose ore called ragnite and it´s scarcity becomes a reason for the Imperial alliance to declare war upon the Atlantic Federation and subsequently Gallia, that is known to hold abundance of this ore. When Imperium attacks Welkins´s hometown of Bruhl, he chooses to help a young woman, commander of Bruhl´s town watch named Alicia Melchiott, to evacuate the citizentry of Bruhl. After those events, those two are conscripted to the militia, among with many others, to defend their country.

The game inlcudes stuff like building up your own squad, adding soldiers from one of five classes available. each and every soldier has their own quirks and perks, making it truly feel like you are commanding real people, not just some grey mass of grunts. The game has great lenght, easily jumping over 60 hours. However, this is also due to the fact, that the difficulty ramps up considerably after every chapter, making you replay some missions twice, if not more. But in the end, it does a great job in keeping the game fun and challanging.

The music is an instant classic, akin to games like Breath of Fire V and final fantasy, albeit more military themed.

The port is a job well done, inlcuding a variety of graphical settings, that proves that it is infact possible to do a great port from PS3 to pc (LOOKING AT YOU ROCKSTAR, YOU BUNCH OF LAZY bundle of sticksS) for a solid price of 20 dollars.

That about covers it. It is a great lenghty game with interesting story and plot twists for a price some would call bargain. A rare game indeed, fool would be the one missing up on this.

Can someone explain why the fuck is this goty 2011? Sure graphics and environments are nice, but thats it.

The combat is godawful, I bad mouthed dark souls 2 combat for being clumsy, but this game...OH HOLY SWEET JESUS THIS GAME!!!
It made me weep. 2011 and game devs have not yet figured out how to give players some proper melee combat experience. Mount and blade warband combat may be a bit buggy, but it shits all over the Skyrim combat.

The story is non existent. And so forgetable, that all I can remember is some shit about dragonborn and how dragons have re-apeared. No game before made worse first impression on me like this game did.

Overall, this game is glorified benchmarking tool, sorta like Crysis (except that choking gooks was at least a bit fun).

I found this on the internet few days ago when checking on inide games development.

It is a game about creating your own virus/bacteria/parasite/whatever to infect and hopefully wipe out humanity. You can choose what means (what micro-organism) you want to use to achieve this, starting with bacteria, and working up from there. The game consist of picking the place of origin of the strain (any real life country) and devloping it in three areas: infectibility, severity, and deadliness, which you do by spending DNA points you gather by virus spreading (this happens automatically as new hosts get infected and travel around the world) and by increasing number of infections, which too happens automatically, as infected people come to contact with healthy ones.

For the DNA points you aquired, you can purchase the means of transmission (such as blood, wildlife, rats, insects), symptoms, from simple coughing and nausea to external hemorrhaging (hope I wrote that right), coma, rapid cell death, insanity and so on, and special abilities, such as resistance to climates (bacteria) spore releases (fungus), virus mutation (obv. viruses :D) etc.

The world of course, will not sit idly and watch the devastation your plague brings, and will strive to find a cure as fast as possible (how soon, and if ever depends on your difficulty).

The game is really fun and I can gladly recommend this to anyone interested.

Historical Discussion / Why didnt japanese soldiers carry shields?
« on: May 11, 2014, 12:11:32 pm »
This one has always been bugging me. Considering that most of their armies composed of lightly armored ashigaru, It would make sense to give them shields to prolong their survivability. Ofc upper class troops like samurai and above would probably see it as cowardice due to the teaching of bushido, but ashigaru were not limited by such things.

So anyone has any leads?

I have heard that the game is horrible, but what exactly makes it so? I was thinking of trying it, but I hear people saying all the time the game sucks tragically. What gives?

General Off Topic / So I was thinking of getting a new pc.
« on: March 27, 2014, 04:20:51 pm »
I have about 500 dollar budget (not much I know)

Could anyone here suggest a good build for this sum?

NOTE: I also have a hard drive from my previous laptop that has windows 7 installed on it. Is there any way I could incorporate the drive into my future desktop?

NOTE2: I also have stuff like keyboard screen and mouse, so I am talking purely about case and hardware.
