Still like our old trailer. http://youtu.be/KS-m_5s3aZ4 good old days with Torben as cav and that one village we took where archers just sat on their roofs and blew everything to pieces!
Love that trailer. Partly because of my old tourney map being the main setting, but also, ochestra music is always dramatic. I think some Hans Zimmer would work very well.

With Chasm, I think the gap in the big bridge that was added since the picture was taken really is what makes it great. It's been a while since I regularly saw so many fights where both sides played as a team.

So, the first experiment in strat failed pretty badly. 0:20 KD ratio. My side had no weapons or body armor that Tavern is strong enough to use. Plus the opposing force was made up mostly of heavy cavalry and crossbowmen. So mostly was just getting crushed out of spawn by about 30 horses. Only highlight was leading a strike team around the flank to take the enemy flags and racking up about 30 points from opposing team damage as I weaved in and out of the enemy.

Would be neat if you could expand Crimea to the east and conqueror all of Mongolia. There should be a steam achievement for having the Mongol invasion in reverse.

dont be so harsh, it is only capital of one of of poorest European counties today.

That's not really a good gauge of their accomplishment though. Timbuktu and the area of Mali was a center of trade and tremendous weath. These days it's a hell hole that is considerably worse off in just about every way from what it use to be.

What I do really miss is a show of impact when a ship rams another ship, apart from the rams ending in complete destruction of one ship, there is barely any visible impact. The ship doesn't even rock, no splash, no cracking noises, no damage to the hull and flying pieces of wood, no rams getting stuck inside the ship. No sinking from the hole caused by the ram if they manage to pull it back out there. It is so blatantly missing for me when I watch this video that it really doesn't make sense to me that they didn't implement any of that.

Agreed. but perhaps that's just a bad limitation of the engine they use, because the same could be said for all of the games going back to Empire.

I've tried the Rondel and just don't like it nearly as much as the Nordic Short Sword. I mostly attack archers anyway, so -2 damage in pierce instead of cut isn't worth losing that much length to me. If a full tin can attacks me, I can just hold my shield up till they get bored and start trying to punch me. Once that starts the stab on the short sword is good enough to get the job done.

Gavelkind can be handled pretty well as a catholic as you can make extra kids bishops, but it is harder to deal with as a viking. Then again, like with the Mongols. In-fighting is pretty much the only thing that keeps the Vikings from conquering all of Europe with all their aggressive abilities.

I certainly like Old Gods, but I think 1066 is still the best start date if you want to follow a relatively normal course of events (I get that the events of CK2 never are very normal, but some things stay similar). Things can get pretty weird when the Jomsviking Empire dominates all of Europe, spreading the Norse faith and culture even to Egypt.

Had BBC America on the other day, and as they often do, they were playing Star Trek: Next Generation. Just so happened this particular episode was clearly influenced by Rashoman. I know many famous directors have also credited Kurosawa for influencing them. Definitely will watch some more.

tavern keeper would be hilariously effective in strat, if thats not a STF what would you put post-30 points into, troll ath or str for armor and weapons?

Have to go all in on Ath. Once you reach 33 and have 13 Ath it not only helps you to dodge horses, but also gives you a nice speed bonus to your hits for some extra damage.

I never got how he took like 300 rounds from a Gatling gun and lived.
