Yep crpg was great for that, the make your own builds and the vast amount of gear.
Tried LO, refunded it, it is nothing like crpg except yeah there is some directional combat without stabbing, downblocking and no ranged. Also not much character creation options, I bet every 4-5 characters are clones in game.
Is the games population dying so bad from the kos zerg monsters that people with 0 posts have to come here and try to get people to play it?
