General Discussion / 3D model rigging
« on: January 05, 2022, 02:14:14 pm »
Are helmets rigged differently in c-rpg?
Every time I open it's models in openbrf, they're in a different position from the ones
in native, and other mods.

cRPG Technical problems / Item repairs
« on: May 05, 2014, 06:07:45 pm »
For some reason my items won't repair.

I started off with "Automatically repair damaged items" turned off.

When I was on a battle server, I noticed some of my items were damaged.
So, I thought "there must be an option to manually repair them ingame or something, or maybe there's an option to manually repair them on the C-rpg site"
So, I checked the C-rpg site and found there was no options to manually repair items there.
So, I turned on "Automatically repair damaged items"

Went into Battle, siege and duel servers, but they still aren't repairing.

I have 4000 gold on me, but the helm remains "rusty", and my swords remain "chipped".

Suggestions Corner / Duelling experience
« on: March 15, 2014, 01:11:38 am »
Hey there,

Haven't been able to play C-rpg consistently for about 2 years.
Just got back into it.

I like the new experience system, as it encourages teamwork.
I feel this system is better for battles and the like.

Last time I played, the experience system seemed more based on individual skills/kills.
(At least on the duelling servers. Didn't play much else)
The amount of experience and gold gained, was relative to your level and your opponents level. Basically if you were level x, and defeated someone much higher level than you, you'd gain a lot
more experience and gold. Where as, if you defeated someone of roughly the same level,
you would gain an average amount. And defeating someone of lower level, would give you a small amount.

My suggestion is to bring back this experience system for Duelling, as I feel the multiplier system is great for Battle, sieges and other team based games, as it encourages teamwork, which is what they are all about.

But Duelling is about individual skill, and I feel the old xp system encourages and rewards individual skill/individuality.

I also think, with this system, there would be less people in heavy armor with high quality weapons, challenging people in a robe with wooden sword/sticks/clubs.
Which there seems to be a lot of, at the moment, most likely because they're obsessed with having high kill/death ratios, regardless of there being any skill, challenge or fun in it.

EDIT:
XP and gold would only be gained through ranked duels.
Basically, the system as a whole, including Duel deposits, would only apply
to ranked duels.

Suggestions Corner / Katana thrust
« on: October 05, 2012, 11:36:38 pm »
My suggestion is to trade in some speed for some decent Thrust damage.

I think a good way to look at it, is in comparison to the Bastard sword. Both swords aren't so different in terms of weight and length.

So if we were to give the Katana the same stats as the Bastard sword (35 cut, 21 pierce)
And then apply rule such as, the "Katana is a curved weapon, so it should have +2 cut" 37 cut
And the "Bastard sword is a straight weapon, so it should have + 2 pierce" 21 pierce

Then the Katana would have 37 cut 19 pierce
Bastard sword 35 cut 21 pierce

But right now it's +5 pierce to the Bastard sword.

I think 19 pierce for the Katana would be about right

My post from this thread
http://forum.meleegaming.com/realism-discussion/katana-extreme-%27based-on-reality-balance%27-fail/15/

My suggestion is to give the Katana the same speed as the Bastard Sword, as the weight and length of Katana and Bastard sword is not that different.
And in return, receive some decent Thrust damage.

Katana
weapon length: 95
weight: 1.2
difficulty: 9
speed rating: 99
Thrust damage: 19 pierce
swing damage: 37 cut

I'd much prefer the Katana, to be thought of as a Viable weapon, than a Cheap spamming weapon

Grappling, who's for it? Who's against it?

Feel free to post how you think it should be implemented, or why you feel it shouldn't be implemented.

Suggestions Corner / Armor names
« on: July 14, 2012, 04:26:38 pm »
My suggestion is to give the Japanese armor proper names.

Doesn't have to be in Japanese, but something of an english/Euromy old friend translation of the Japanese name, or just something appropriate, like "Japanese Lamellar armor" for the Heavy and Medium armor, and "Japanese Leather Lamellar armor" for the light. Would be better than "Heavy Strange armor" etc.

General Discussion / Units

A quick question in regards to weapon stats. What are the units of measurement used for Weapon length and Weight.
My guess by looking at them, would be cm for Weapon length and Kg for Weapon weight

General Discussion / Nodachi

I've always wondered why the Nodachi doesn't have a thrust. The point of the sword looks more than capable of thrusting, so why is this?

Suggestions Corner / A change of Scene, a change of Style
« on: June 30, 2012, 08:53:01 pm »
My suggestion is to remove the Hollywood ninja stuff, i.e the black Ninja robes/pyjamas and hooded masks, and just add some more Historical Japanese gear.

Like for example some more variation in armor.

Wouldn't require new stats, just different colors of armor to add some Variety, much like the the Transitional armor with surcoat, Corrazina armor, Coat of Plates and the variations of Plate armor.
As well as,  some new weapons like Japanese spears and Halberds.
