Nothing is certain except death...hrm...actually...yeah, that's it. Taxes are less certain than death.

A thread for all your tax talk.

Don't hobos have to pay some tax for the spot in which they try to stay at night?

Sit down my friends and just relax,
It's time to pay your income tax.
For whether we are great or small,
They tax us one, they tax us all.

They tax the hobo and the queen,
They tax the bull and tax his ring.
They tax the gas that runs your car
And even tax the big cigar.

They tax your whiskey and home brew,
They tax the Bible and your pew.
They tax the wristwatch on your arm
And tax the rat trap on your farm.

They tax the baby in his crib, and
Tax his shirt and tax his bib.
They tax the crib that he sleeps in,
And don't consider that a sin.

Then they go from bad to worse
And tax the doctor and tax the nurse.
They tax the dentist and his drill
And he just adds it to your bill.

Whenever you leave this world behind
They will be there to steal you blind.
Before you reach the Golden Gate
They'll slap a tax on your estate.

They tax the hearse on your last ride,
And shed some tears because you died.
The reason for their deep distress?
You left them with no address.

Friendship is like wetting your pants: everyone can see it, but only you can feel its warmth.

K, i will share my tax views:

Paying 42% here. I would not mind paying even more, as long as i know that the money is being used properly ( that being said, i would not want to pay any taxes at all in a country with blooming corruption/bribes, instability, dissent )

I support pensions/elderly needs, I support any youth programs that create opportunities for the teenagers to pursue "healthy" peaceful goals ( sport, music, art, education, etc. ), I support free top quality medical care, free education, and highly trained/paid law enforcement forces.

What I don't want to use any money on is foreign help/aid, support of social parasites ( all of them healthy "misfits" - whatever their reasons are for not working, my heart is just not compassionate enough to reach out to their "needs" ) and child support ( it's a free choice to have children, if you can't provide optimal conditions - don't make so many fckin' babies, or let the state take care of them ).

Not sure about the military expenses... It really does feel like a waste of money here in Denmark, but I guess everyone in Europe needs to chip-in, otherwise EU will get assraped.

I'm completely uninterested in politics in general, so i don't really know what party shares my views, hopefully it puts me in the middle somewhere :)

Tax Code is kind of like Law Code in the sense that they have become so byzantine and complex over the centuries the purpose of accountants and lawyers is to act as sort of translators and guides. Tbf the things they are "coding" are inherently complex and sometimes vague in the first place, so it's not like it was a deliberate thing.

The whole concept of lawyers is retarded and proves the legal system is a clusterfuck that needs to be cleansed with napalm.
Meaning lies as much

Word, well said. Paying 41% myself. Though I have thoughts about supporting "free medical care" - once I heard that my country's hospitals are basically filled with drug addicts and alcoholics, a lot of them who are repeatedly hospitalized even after serious warnings from doctors. Why should I, or my country, pay for someone who wants to destroy his health on purpose? Why should they get treated "for free" for the second or third time they're in for their shit. That's like lending someone money so he can wipe his ass and then lending him some more. There really needs to be a system for this.

On the other hand I was kinda relieved I only had to pay like 130€ property tax. Was worried I'd have to pay (a lot) more since I own two flats.
