how to use commander chat in conquest?

once you are selected as a commander how do you use the chat?

I don't readily know the key for commander chat (though I imagine I would figure it out). However, if you ask a question, figure it out yourself, you should put an answer into the post so that when people use the search in the future, they'll find your post and get an answer instead of sifting though unanswered questions.
