Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Which Poles Can I use?
« on: September 02, 2015, 12:34:48 pm »
The red tassel spear is generally over looked. It is an excellent hipster weapon.
If you are dedicated to hopliting with a 4d polearm consider  war spear, red tassel, svaerstav, spear, boar spear, esatoc, mil scythe and short spear. In this order. Other weapons to consider are throwing lance, longsword (can be hoplited),  bastard sword (can be hoplited).

special mentions
*practice lance
*goedendag
*iron staff
*double sided lance

Sell/Trade / What can I get for one LP?

I am after a +2 or +3 weapon.

I don't care how common, weak or ugly. Looking for helmets, boots, bows, crossbows and weapons.

Suggestions Corner / Low tier weps get more benefit from looming
« on: August 17, 2015, 04:39:42 pm »
I think this not only makes sense but would make some of the outright weaker weapons more attractive to loom. Dadao is one example. Many of these weapons are unique and it would be pretty cool to have a unique and potent weapon.

I am not asking for them to be as good as the most powerful weapons but I think they should get some extra benefit.

I am sure you could justify this with rp somehow.

edit: I also think a different loom bonus should be considered. for example +4 to cut and +0 to speed for the mil scythe. Maybe the best  or worst characteristic of a weapon could be enhanced.
edit2: boar spear is probably okay as is.

Suggestions Corner / +1 p to mil scythe

Great wep but it is no match for its admittedly more expensive cousin the svarstick. Price really doesn't matter atm anyway.

+p or +1c should make it more attractive.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Is it worth looming the heavy morningstar?
« on: August 11, 2015, 03:24:44 am »
Is it worth looming the heavy morningstar?

It is my favorite weapon at the moment but I know it is a little gimped. My question, Is it really three loom points better? Or would I be better of spending them on the long bardiche (or other OP polearm).

PEPE that is a thing of beauty

Thanks to looms I can run 61 body armour at 12 str for only 29k upkeep (including helmet, polearm and boots)

+5 would bring me up to maybe 65

Maybe it should reduce armour weight or upkeep slightly instead a non-essential luxury.

Arming swords were designed to damage chain mail!

Yes they are pointy but no one had plate during the first crusades!
