I was using one of the 0 difficulty shields a lot in the battle yesterday. No shield skill and didn't get shot at all while I was using it. Definitely a viable way to prevent yourself from getting shot. Also pretty fun to form up into shield walls, never really gotten to do that before as a 2h.

I don't know james, but I think you're just special.

i will support a nerf of range when i see a sufficient amount of shielders on the battlefield.

until then, it sucks to be a shitlord.

I started using a shield since ranged became an issue for me. It hasn't helped at all. 80% of shots still hit me WITH MY SHIELD UP, and it's not a small shield. I've even had arrows hit me in the chest with my shield up, and it wasn't one of those times where I just raised my shield, I had my shield raised a full TEN SECONDS before this and the arrow went through the shield. Idk maybe shield hitboxes are bugged.

I think it was dupre or someone who said something about being able to limit the amount of ranged on a server by checking archery wpf or PD because another mod was doing it. Crpg should do the same thing when server reaches a certain pop

It's not fun spawning in and not even getting to swing before getting 1-shot in a full plate helm with my shield up. Archers and throwers consistently top the scoreboards. Sometimes I get shot in the chest with shield up what the fuck. I respec'd cav to deal with archers but unless you sneak up on them, their shot will cancel your swing, then fill your horse with arrows, or just HS you while you're riding.

An idea for the Game Master (tm) would be to have a system similar to Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This may be in other SOASE games but thats the only one I've played. Essentially there are pirates, and theres an open timer until a raid. It randomly selects one person as the raid target. BUT, you can pay to have them hit someone else instead. So if the raid isnt set to you, you have no reason to spend money unless they decided to swap the target to you. This leads to bidding wars that can take up a lot of resources since an early game pirate raid can be pretty tough to deal with.

Could be used a similar way via silver bidding (although this would make small factions screwed more) or through anonymous polls on the forum (still would benefit larger factions). A way to fix this would be if you got raided, you can't be raided again until every other faction has been therefore everyone would get hit at once. IDK just some ideas

I remember that game. This is an awesome idea.

Can strat have roles that you pick at the beginning of a strat round? Choosing a leader role gets you get bonuses to PP, taxes, and army cost. Mercenary role gets a slight buff to their char stats and map speed. Traders could get S&D bonuses. Mayors get to own multiple fiefs.

If you add in abilities you could have depth for the roles, e.g. assassin role has ability to infiltrate castle and open the gate for a siege. Idk I just like the idea of roles and spicing up strat gameplay.

Can simple be done with the on_hit trigger nullifying all ranged damage during swing animation of a 2h hero. He's immune from all directions then but who cares about details? You could even spawn a new projectile then going for example towards the shooter, making it as if the 2hander deflected the arrow/bolt back. We jedi now.

I think timing would be important. You'd have to time your swing and there'd be less than half a second window to chamber the arrow. It'd be cool to have a new projectile spawned to show the deflection, even if only for visual purpose.

You can't. But this is the next best thing. Say you spawn in on your main and die cuz the enemy team has too many archers, then you spawn in on your cav alt and take care of them, then they spawn in on their pike alt and take care of you, then you spawn in on your archer alt and take care of them, then they spawn in on their cav alt and take care of you.

It really boils down to taking care <3 of others. I think you should be able to respawn a max of 2 times for a total of 3 lives.

Kind of like in war thunder where you have multiple tanks/planes to choose from and can use a different one after you die. I love that idea. No seriously that's a really great idea. It would really freshen up the game. Only thing is I don't think it should be a skill investment.

How would you limit the amount of alts you can use in one game? Maybe you have to pay for reserve slots?

give swords the ability to deflect arrows in mid-air. if timed right, your swing will effectively "parry" the arrow out of the way. code this in the game and you've saved c-rpg
