General Discussion / Can we make an effort to play Battle more?

When I check the server browser 9 times out of 10 battle is dead and people are playing against bots so I don't join. I'm a bit disappointed that this latest attempt to resurrect a dead mod is going to waste because people just want to play DTV. Maybe we could cap the DTV server so people have to go on to battle when there are over 6 players on there or something like that? Otherwise we need to schedule a day when people hop on to battle or something.

The way it is atm is not going to lead to a lasting revival of the mod.

I'm only mildly interested in this mod again and that will be gone pretty quickly if people just want to hit some bots

Bit of a vicious circle in that population is the number one driver for other players to get on. That combined with the mod being left in disrepair many times over the years and the fact that community has aged considerably are the largest factors I would say.

Still I am on playing Battle/DTV a few times a week with 10-20 players on. Can be fun but no doubt the more the merrier!

This is a pretty good take but I feel like DTV is a part of the problem that makes people not play the actual M&B game.

DTV helps to get some players around because bored people can play with bots when no one is there, but apart from that its not good for the mod imo if people want to revive it. Would be better if people had to play a pvp mode. Besides that I think M&B2 needs to be adopted and transitioned to, but I didn't really like the time I spent in M&B 2 MP so far

There are 4 of us on now but the server seems to be broken, like playing with 500 ping

Everyone went to DTV and it feels laggy there too.

I think we need to put down a precise time so that all people come on that time. We could've easily have had a 6vs6 if people hadn't left.

A concrete time would be good to get everyone there at the same time, but last week people came on earlier than the original time and then left before we even got to 7pm GMT (8pm UK).

So I'll join at 6pm UK time tomorrow (5PM GMT) and see what happens.

I only really post anything on here btw, if someone wants to spread the word around elsewhere that would be good. I only took some initiative with trying to get people into cRPG again because no one else was, so if someone wants to take some leadership with it thats fine by me. You don't have to only play on Saturdays too

Well we had a few games but mostly 2 v 2 when I joined. When I looked earlier on it said 13 on cRPG but when I joined most had left already.

Same as last week, same sort of time. People were already on around 7pm UK time so 6PM GMT but just join when you can - late afternoon/evening

Yeah we got a few hours of decent games.

Lets make Saturday the main day, around the same time. It was going to be 7pm GMT but people started joining around 6pm GMT (7PM UK time), so around the same time again next week should be good.

I'll be on again next Saturday but if people want to join any days before then theres no reason not to. People mentioned about playing again tomorrow. I might not make it but will join next Saturday most likely

Sup, a lot of "yes-es" in your thread atm, a lot of oldmy old friends showing up as well. I think making a new thread, with a clear title and date (i.e. next saturday 7PM GMT, 23rd?) and then spreading the word through friend lists and discord etc can make the boost we need.

So if you guys want to get into cRPG again drop by EU1 this Saturday around 7pm GMT . Lets see if we can get a proper game going and then take it from there. If we spread the word around we could make it a regular thing.

I'll join this Saturday at about 5pm GMT (6pm UK time). That a good time for people? Hopefully others who are interested will join too. Only takes a few players to get the server populated and then more will join.

Nothing stopping people joining at other times too, just hang around on the server for a bit and invite people on your friends list. I dont really use discord so if someone uses that and could get the cRPG people playing that would be great.

Think we should come up with one main evening as well. Maybe Saturdays
