Every time I've tried to join one of the Asian strategus battles that I've signed up for, I've encountered some weird issues.
I am level 0 for the entirety of the map and as far as I'm aware, my statistics treat me as if I weren't present in the battle.
I also get chat error spam of "SCRIPT ERROR: division by zero.
As I'm level 0, I can't equip any gear nor assist in any meaningful way in the battle, and I don't get paid regardless of whether I was actually at the battle or not.

Screenshot for evidence below.
Pls fix and give me my money and xp :)

I'm not sure why this happens, but half the time I check the website for how many players are on the Australian server (to gauge whether I want to load it up or not), it reports that there are players online.
I load the game up and there are most certainly not players on the server.
The website continues to report that there are players on the server even after reloading it, doesn't seem to be any rime or reason for it reporting incorrectly.
It does correctly report that the server is empty, but approximately only half the time.
What the f is happening?

PS: I assume this goes without saying, but I do enter the server to check if there's any kind of mistake and there are no players on either team, nor spectating.

Game Balance Discussion / Buff Polehammer
« on: March 20, 2019, 11:21:46 am »
Currently using a +3 Polehammer and have bonked quite a few people with it.
It feels awful.
As it stands, there's no redeeming feature for the polehammer.

It has worse damage than you'd think, even if it had decent speed, it takes a LOT of hits to kill someone.
It's closest comparison is the German poleaxe.
Take note that when compared to aforementioned non-overpowered weapon, it does worse swing damage even at high armor values, has considerably worse speed, is (marginally) shorter, does not have bonus vs shield, has a worse stab. Furthermore the German poleaxe's secondary mode is better than both modes of the Polehammer.
The tradeoff for this is that the polehammer can technically knock down opponents. At the time of this post I am on a 20+ hit streak of not knocking any opponents down, at 7 power strike.
Finally the Polehammer only gains +2 damage to each swing at masterwork.

Admittedly at +3, it does 37p in secondary mode, which is reasonably high.

But the Polehammer's pierce mode compared to the Bec De Corbin is garbage.
3 Less speed and 2 less stab damage for 10 length and one swing damage? Yuck.

The only reason to use the Polehammer is for novelty purposes.
It could easily receive any number of buffs to both speed and damage.
Plancion for comparison is a straight upgrade to polehammer and is still weak. Still quite seriously underpowered versus the multitude of cut damage alternatives.
While I've never been a fan of using unbalanced weapons, the two handed warhammer is looking very appealing. That's the kind of speed and damage a top-cost blunt weapon should have, obviously the polehammer would need to have adjusted stats because it isn't unbalanced. But wow, 5 more speed, 1 swing damage, 1 stab damage and an additional 1 swing damage sounds fearsome, maybe even viable.

Cut meta is boring, especially when there's no viable blunt options and only one viable pierce option.
And when the polehammer is compared to said cut polearms like German Poleaxe and Elegant poleaxes, its quite obvious how absolutely garbage this weapon is - weaker swings, slower, worse stab, the list goes on.

Just make it powerful enough to feel good when you've equipped it. Hitting someone 5 times with no knockdown then dying to 3 hits from a faster cut weapon (both users at 55+ body armor) is pretty frustrating. It genuinely feels underpowered and it's always surprising when you actually manage to kill someone with such a weapon that has these horrible stat budgets.

As the title suggests, I'm a bit confused about how the heirloom exchange works.
I'm wondering whether or not I can go buy a loom then trade it, so can I buy a very cheap heirloom then trade it for a very expensive one?
And does the exchange require someone to accept your exchange, or is it just one item for another?

Beginner's Help and Guides / Cavalry build advice
« on: October 17, 2014, 05:42:44 am »
Greetings my dearest friends,
In preparation for the new patch I feel I must make a useless cav build that will be rendered redundant as soon as the patch comes out.
However I'm unsure of the specifics;
Either way I will be using armor with 11-13 difficulty and most likely a polearm on the ground.
I would appreci8 some help. Some time ago before the 1h cav nerf I used a Charger and a Spathion and it was glorious.
Is this still viable? If not, should I use a lance, and which one(s) is best?
Also, should I go 15/21 (18/24 after patch if all things are equal, probably won't retire)?

Many thanks

Beginner's Help and Guides / Possible 1h cav build
« on: June 24, 2014, 09:48:22 am »
Ello, does this sound like a decent build?
Level:           30

Strength:        18
Agility:         18

Skill to attr:    2
Ironflesh:        5
Power Strike:     6
Athletics:        6
Riding:           6
Weapon Master:    6
One Handed:      98
Polearm:        134

I'm thinking I would use:
  • Desert horse
  • Italian sword when on my horse
  • Long Axe when teamfighting on the ground
  • Quarterstaff when dueling on the ground
  • Pronoia Helmet
  • Serbian Lamellar with Kneecops
  • Scale Gauntlets
  • Splinted Greaves

Thoughts?

Beginner's Help and Guides / Goedendag or Quarter staff?
« on: June 23, 2014, 10:08:11 am »
As suggested by the title, I'm unsure whether I should use a Goedendag or a Quarterstaff.
I'm also not sure what build I will use, thinking of 24/15.
Either way I'll be using +3 Serbian Lamellar with Kneecops, +3 Scale gauntlets, French Pepperpot Helmet and Splinted Greaves.
Plox halp!

cRPG Technical problems / Accidental trade reversal - need help!
« on: February 08, 2014, 01:53:11 am »
I have a conundrum.
I recently made two accidental trades which resulted in me going from 1 loompoint, 675k and a +3 Longsword to two Danish Greatswords and 285k.
Is there any way I can revert this?
Seeing that they were extremely undesirable trades, I don't expect the recipients to change.

EDIT: One kind gentlemanly trader has reverted his trade. Remaining trade was my +3 Longsword for a +3 Danish.

Suggestions Corner / Please add one handed unbalanced weapons.
« on: February 02, 2014, 12:52:26 pm »
As suggested by the title; I think this game would benefit from some high damage unbalanced one handed weapons.
There may be no need for models as, (with a damage buff, and maybe speed/length of course) weapons such as Military Cleaver, Military Hammer, Warhammer etc. could be made unbalanced.

Thankye.

cRPG Technical problems / Australian server to use Beta client?
« on: January 08, 2014, 01:26:18 pm »
Greetings cRPG;
How would one go about getting the Australian server to use the Beta client?
The one that the official NA servers seems to (from my little time on their) fix various issues present, especially in DTV.

Game Balance Discussion / Problems with archery and ranged in general
« on: June 23, 2013, 06:06:01 am »
Ranged in general, but more specifically archery needs quite a bit of work done to it.
Archery (among other factors that make it pretty underpowered) is far too expensive.
I'm using a Broad Short Sword, +3 Long Bow, +3 Bodkin Arrows, Head Wrapping, Tribal Warrior Outfit, Leather Gloves and Serbian Ankle boots.
This amounts to a total possible upkeep of 2043g.
My build is this:
Level 30
Strength: 18
Agility: 20
Power Strike: 6
Power Draw: 6
Athletics: 6
Weapon Master: 6
Archery: 150
One Handed: 50
(Fear not, I'm going to retire at 32 if I can afford it)

And I experience extreme upkeep every round.
I almost always have to repair my bow for 777g and very often my arrows for 354g and not quite as often my sword for 443g.

I'm approximately halfway through level 30 and I've lost nearly 150k this gen.
I've had entire gens of using top tier 2h, polearm and 1h/shield builds (usually with Sarranid guard armor equivalent armor) and this is the first gen I've had where I've not gained money.

I think it's fair to say that archery is extremely overpriced, both for game balanace and realism. A piece of wood however ornate, intricate and high quality wouldn't, intuitively, be as expensive as a sword.

Please, for the love of archery enjoyment, reduce the price and chance of upkeep; especially that of the bow and to a lesser degree, the arrows.

Other thoughts:
Archery is also quite underpowered.
Despite various melee heroes which are the core of the game and Q_Q the hardest; thus get the most changes passed, it is actually not very good whatsoever.
As shown by the text wall above, it is very expensive.
If a target moves around spastically, it is almost impossible to hit people with.
The reticule is enormous even with 150+ wpf and a +3 Longbow.
Unless you use a +3 Longbow and +3 Bodkins, it is also quite weak.
I've taken 5 hits to kill someone, however they were level ~34 and had perhaps 60 body armor.
I propose a change: make archery significantly more accurate, and perhaps all ranged weapons, but make the aim sway.
Have wpf reduce the effect of swaying, and instead of becoming less accurate, holding the arrow down for an extended period of time should cause the aim to sway more.
This would make archery more skill based, due to the element of luck (giant reticule) being eliminated and the ability for an archer to hit would be solely based on his skill, which would be assisted by his character's skills rather than the giant reticule limiting his ability to shoot stuff.
Similarly, it's pretty ridiculous how archery is the only ranged weapon type that has decreasing accuracy when you hold down an attack, makes it nearly impossible to beat throwers/xbowers in a ranged fight.

Apologies for resetting the poll results, I was mucking around with options and for some reason I can't make a poll where you can change your votes...
