I recall chadz himself said on this forum that the team would be interested in making a cRPG 2.0 for Bonerlord (cba to go looking for the post, it's there, have faith!)
With all due respect to Horns, Dupre, Pestdoktor (always loved ya, man <3) and others currently trying to revive the mod, we must remember that all this would not be possible without original team, I mean people such as chadz, Harald and especially cmp (a man who not only created WSE, but also did enormous work on decrypting the code of the original native Warband game). In the other thread I saw Paul explaining to Horns how the archery damage works... No offence, anyone, but in my opinion, if donkeys will not gather again, I expect there will be something like 8-10 cRPG-wannabie clones, and none of them will be close enough to what chadz and team created, so the community will be divided, and we'll never seethemeach other again (click to show/hide)
I started as a developer 3 weeks ago on top of starting a new job working 40 hours a week writing software at Seagate. So far, I got the launcher working, got NA servers backup, helped add WSE2 to these servers, created a discord bot that can notify you of server population, and have started creating new admin tools so we can avoid banning people for doing things that deserve only an extended mute. But please, tell me about how I don't understand the overly complicated archery damage calculations that 99% of the player base doesn't even know about either. smh
Whether or not the new devs are as skilled as the old doesn't matter much, because if bannerlord ever comes out, its supposed to be very mod-friendly. To what extent, who knows, but I don't remember that really being a selling point for warband as it is for their new project. Of course bannerlord has to actually be released before crpg 2 can ever be made anyways, which is probably less likely to happen than a crpg sequel mod being made.
I want "archery damage calculation" to become a meme and replace the "rocket science' one.hahhaa over so many years it was such a fucking glorious topic :) no, speed bonus works like that :!: bla....bla...bla... no reduce the accuracy :!: bla...bla..bla nerf fucking PD threshold :!: poor balancers did what they can in code line and the pewpew still were going full tard
Lol, was that before or after OKaM?
Before....waaay befooore! :D
Hopefully Bannerlord will feature a multiplayer that is based around the progression (horizontal or vertical) of a customized character (like CRPG) and not the lame faction thing they did in Warband.
That would make it so a mod like CRPG wasn't as vital to having decent gameplay.
Then CRPG 2.0, if someone wanted to create it, could be more about just tweaks and additional items and gamemodes etc.
They will never do that. In order to have the character system we have they would have to host their own databases to store everyone's characters as well as host their own servers to avoid people duping exp and any other in game materials. All of that creates maintenance cost that they have never had before both to host the machines as well as paying someone to tend to these machines and make sure multiplayer is playable. Considering Taleworlds hasn't mentioned anything about multiplayer other than bannerlord will have it really kinda puts into perspective the shits they give about multiplayer in general.
In light of that happy note I will say that there are rumors that modding will be much easier. Which means we can do a lot cooler stuff on our end as modders. My hopes for bannerlord are: the ability to ditch the website and do everything in game, add the customizable weapons feature to the cRPG remake so people can make their own weapons and armors, make strat great again (and less clunky), and finally make as much as I can open source so other modders can add a multiplayer leveling system to their mod.

No no no, the website should stay! having the ability to manage your character from any device in the world at any time is awesome, in crpg 95% of my character, clan management and market whoring was all done on random trains, buses, at work, in the pub and not on a pc that had warband installed. Losing that ability would suck big time.
Definitely have done a lot of my strategus playing over mobile. Very handy to be able to do from a phone.
The only reason we have a website is because it is impossible for warband servers to communicate directly with a database and so it uses a website as a proxy (not to mention making GUI's is a pain in the ass). If you really want to whore the market and manage a clan then no life it and stay inside playing games the way god intended.
That would be different. There is an actual necessity for access anywhere when managing strat. His case, it is just a preference and not absolutely needed.
I wish they would just make Bannerlord.
I wish they would make Bannerlord.welp I wouldn't get your hopes up in seeing it this year or even early next year.
Upd: dammit Jona!

"Of course, we understand a lot of you are looking to hear a release date and more details on the politics and campaign side of single player. In our opinion, the most important thing is to deliver a great game, worthy of our efforts and your expectations. We have so far avoided giving a release date thinking it would distract us from our attention to quality. The campaign is something we can definitely show off more and we’re looking at the best way to do it justice, and present it with the clarity and depth that it deserves."
That whole news blog was about how they set up their E3 booth lol.
welp I wouldn't get your hopes up in seeing it this year or even early next year.Better this, than what has happened to oKaM (unfinished pre-alpha released year ago, which still hasn't converted into a decent game).
