Title: Can someone please help me figure out my ping problem ?
Post by: Ujin on July 07, 2015, 12:03:51 pm
Sorry about posting here, but it seems like the "technical problems" section of the forum isn't really working.

So yeah.. for the last month or so (i've been away and just came back to see that it's no different), about 2 days after the latest patch released my ping on the official EU servers just skyrocketed to some crazy 200+ values. So atm i'm forced to play on NA (~150ping). Can anyone help me out here, pretty please ?

p.s. it seems i'm not the only one with this problem too http://forum.melee.org/crpg-technical-problems/ping-going-way-up/

Mine was resolved with the last patch. Muffin was getting the same problem as me so his may be as well.

You could try PMing Hate More as he found a fix for his separately.

Most of the times I had ping issues it was because my Isp messed up the routing.

Have you tried to do a tracert towards the crpg server? This should be the crpg sverver IP  176.57.143.15

I'm no advanced user , but if i got you correctly - i did the "tracert 176.57.143.15" in the cmd line , didn't change anything :(.

It's not supposed to change anything, it shows the route from your location to the server. Copy paste here what the command returns (as text).

It's like Lars said, bad routing. Try using a 'ping booster' program that changes your route, like WTFast, or a VPN connection, if you have one. It is possible that it'll help. Choose a server close to the game server, in this case Germany I guess.

Neither Pingzapper nor WTFast work :( Nevermind, restarted my PC and now it works fine, back to 50 ping ! Thank you fellas and see you on the battlefield ! :D

Around one month and a half ago I had the same problem, I don't know if it can help, but you could also try to contact your Isp and send 'em a message with a screenshot or txt   of your tracert results.

I assume he thought it did not work.
Which it didn't at first, since the router obviously did not reroute mid-use.

After the restart it then worked. But I might be wrong.

Im still at 15-20 ping higher than normal, steady 50 now from ~30-35. It might not be that huge but its definitely noticeable and very frustrating.

Servers are still laggy and my ping is still higher than normal. Is this completely isp based or did something happen with the patch that made it laggy?
