And life was supposed to be fair?
No... it is just not fair.
so you agree that I'm getting the short stick of this deal and your solution is that I am supposed to accept it? That about right?
The patch was ment to make it easier for newer players to put up a fight vs the people using all +3's, plate, high levels, etc. If you want c-rpg the way it was then you are just selfish. As is you still have a level advantage. Just not enough to curb stomp others that are not high leveled.
By rights, I SHOULD be stronger than most because I forsake a huge number of looms and generations to be that way. Now that almost anyone can be of a comparable level, tell me what it is I've worked toward all this time.It seems you've worked towards having something to be a huge cry-baby about.
You're right, life is about doing whatever we want without consequences. This works both ways.
So, you want the Devs to consider you and the 2 other people with a gen 1 high level over the whole playerbase when making a patch?
Basically, you want everyone else to suffer cuz you were to lazy to start over from lvl 1 several times to get looms?
Makes sense I guess...
I was 35 before the patch and had a whopping 7% of my XP to 36 done (in 6 months). At that point the grind isn't worth it even if you play all the time and love the game. Sucks for everyone that was high level and didn't retire before the patch, but hey you had several warnings. I retired the second I read the first announcement. The time if grind-nerds having 6 levels on other players is over. As one of those nerds I still see this as a good thing. But I bet you're not a gen 1, which means you've probably earned a fair share of looms and gens. I have no such thing to fall back on.
The patch is a giant "FUCK YOU" to the people who chose never to retire.its a big FUCK YOU to all veterans
Not only do people have more looms and level up faster than I do they are all equal to me in level now. I had to invest a huge amount of time into my gen 1 and now anyone can get it for nothing. Yeah, really fucking fair.
Wisdom.
I'm all for making the game more accessible to newbies but not at the expense of alienating the hard-core fanbase
The starter kit items are extremely restrictive(untradeable etc) and they don't get to choose which items they get. We chose the items prior to the patch.what about people who have them weapons now they will be worth nothing.

Now that almost anyone can be of a comparable level, tell me what it is I've worked toward all this time.So you wasn't just playing and having fun, it was a hard work aimed to get that high level... Then yeah, I feel sorry for you man, that really sucks you had to work for so many months without even getting paid.
what about people who have them weapons now they will be worth nothing. How?
now i just heard a rumor that new players get 4 +3 items?
so gallon worked his ass off 2 fucking years straight to get his lvl, doesnt even have 4 +3's...and someone fresh off the boat can get his lvl and his armor...and loom it?
welp, it was nice knowing u gallon, but if the new player \ loom rumor is true, i doubt you'll stick around, u just got a big dick slapped across ur face.
Sorry but... You are not the "hard-core fan base". You're just a big sissy crying about some poor decisions you made, and now you feel like you got screwed over when in fact you chose never to retire.
You screwed yourself.
I would have been able to sympathize with you, but it's pretty hard considering your incredibly obnoxious attitude.

i have nothing relevant to say im just here to respond to everything you say no matter what you are talking about cuz im not so secretly in love with you.
i can see that chosen. you're no different than bicep or sugar or lemon or haru.
well, actually, they matured.
Except it wasn't a poor decision; it was a perfectly viable and balanced method before this patch undermined everything. You're arguing in circles.
If you chose not to retire thats cool but every decision has its consequences and thats totally your own decision. I would say those people are a very small minority to start with and I personally wouldn't get any satisfaction topping boards and trashing players 4-1 if I knew it was off the back of being a far higher level than all of them (but each to their own). c-RPG is literally the poster boy for, you can't please everyone all of the time. Seems you can never just get a nice positive consensus on anything and there are a sect of die hard cave dwelling trollings just waiting to spew their bile over anything new (You guys know who you are)
So anyway its new, enjoy it, stop whinging and play.
*Points his new MIGHTY 2h warmmer at the super duper high level gen 1s as he leaves* Stop crying.. now!

Oh look, another attempt to shame me instead of presenting an actual argument because you know you don't have one

Forcibly show him the door; the whining is getting old.
What is the difference between playing well with +3 weapons/armor and playing well because you are slightly stronger than most?
you're no different than bicep
Extra 2 PS is like 4-6 extra damage, twice the effect of a +3 weapon. 2 athletics allows you to wear an extra 10 weight of armor and move at the same speed. +10 weight of armor exceeds the value of quite a few looms all at once.
The 6 level difference of 30 to 36 has been reduced to a 3 level difference of 35 to 38 which still gives a sizable advantage. It's a far better solution than decreasing veterans' levels, which would've been a true "fuck you." In fact, all veterans should have received at least 1-2 extra levels with new potential builds available to them, along with the forever-requested ability to easily respec. Training lessons that end in a few days are going for pennies right now.
Thanks for that well-formulated explanation. I can see how being a higher level actually overshadows MW equipment in a lot of ways and I admit that significantly cheaper respecs are a god-send; something the mod definitely needed. But in a lot of ways I'm still convinced the patch was overkill and I don't like it but I'm starting to accept itI wasn't shitting you about lvl42.. after the shock wears off you will probably end up having more fun .. I did.

Just slight correction 30-36 is now closer to 35-37 38 is equivalent to the xp it took to get to level 37 before. The range is almost too tight, because there is no levelling, no goal to achieve with levels. Without a decent strategus either there are just not a lot of reasons to keep playing much with how boring and repetitive the maps on NA1 are with everyone min-maxing agility. If you really like doing no damage as archer or if you want to join the min-max bandwagon and go minimum 21 agility for the s-key win, then I guess battle server won't get boring after 5-10 minutes.
But in all honesty they removed even more functional classes, reduced variety and added some OP new items that everybody uses until they get hotfixed. I thought we were going to get a legitimate change to the xp/gold system to something more enjoyable, a real limitation on agility builds (like 75% of current reduced speed when backpedaling), dynamic new map rotation, etc. - a true revival. Other than the leveling system, not really many significant changes.
