Title: Mods compatible with cRPG
Post by: Punisher on May 19, 2011, 12:20:33 am
MORE METAL SOUNDS
Adds new sounds to cRPG, in general all fighting sounds are more "metalish" and realistic.
Download: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=51681.0
To make it compatible with cRPG you need to replace the Sounds.txt file. You can get the version for patch 0.223 made by Dexxtaa here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,306.0.html

SOUNDS OF SUFFER
Pairs very well with More Metal Sounds.
Sounds of Suffer page Link: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,157494.0.html
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApVcAu1FEaI
Download link: http://www.speedyshare.com/files/26848515/Mandie8.rar click on the .rar file.
To install it just copy and paste the sounds from the Mandie8.rar file into the cRPG/Sounds folder (should contain More Metal Sound files), this will overwrite ONLY the man sounds and grunting. You don't need to change anything on the Sounds.txt

REALISTIC COLORS
Replaces all those Disney/wow saturated textures with better more "dark medieval looking" ones. This mod works in cRPG without any further adjustement.
Download: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=120098.0

CALRADIA IN DARKNESS
Graphical enhancement - replaces textures, optionally you can add HDR horizons, taller grass and flowers. Looks pretty decent, in some maps way better than realistic colors, in others a bit worse. This mod works in cRPG without any further adjustement.
download: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=157802.0

MOVIE WB VIEW
Movie WB View resembles Caladria in Darkness but with different features. This mod works in cRPG without any further adjustement.
download: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,150311.0.html

BLOOD ENHANCEMENT MOD
Adds more blood splashes, you can find all the details you need here http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,143179.0.html
For the mod to work make sure you have particle systems enabled (checkbox at the bottom of Video Options in-game). This mod works in cRPG without any further adjustement.

ALTERNATIVE CROSSHAIR
Replaces the crosshair for ranged weapons with a more FPS-style one - way better than original
http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=1546

OLD BOW CONVERSION PACK

This mod converts all new cRPG bow textures to the old Native ones.
Download and details here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,6183.msg133239.html#msg133239
To install it replace the ranged_new.brf file from your Resource folder of the cRPG module with the new one in the archive.

OLD BOW ANIMATIONS
This mod changes new bow animations to the old beloved ones. A warning before using is that the hitboxs may be slight off when trying to aim for someone when they have their bow ready. Other than that it works great.
Download and details here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,6183.msg133239.html#msg133239

LOW RESOLUTION TEXTURES
Not really a mod, but fixes most random FPS drops that appeared with the new patch with no noticeable effects on texture quality. Just replace your Textures folder from cRPG module with the one in the archive.
Download and details here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,5335.0.html

OPTIMIZATION
If you still experience FPS drops after installing the Low Resulution Textures, I suggest intalling the optimization too, it granted me an extra 10 FPS and made the overall gameplay more fluent.
Download and details here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,6967.0.html
- not updated for 0.233

Since the Low Resolution Textures and the Optimization work well together, I made a pack containing both for easier installation. Just extract the files in your cRPG folder and overwrite.
Download it here http://www.gamefront.com/files/20401156/crpg_pack.rar
- not updated for 0.233

These mods were spread around the forums, I just gathered them. Credits go to the people who originally posted them.

A totaly different experience from Native, it is AWESOME.

At this moment I am playing with thoses mods:
MORE METAL SOUNDS                ____
SOUNDS OF SUFFER                          | Theses 3 are perfect together, brings a dark side to warband.
BLOOD ENHANCEMENT MOD        ____

MOVIE WB VIEW
- Very good graphics without losing the "Native" feeling.

Added the Optimization pack from Segd, it helped me gain an extra 10 FPS and made the overall gameplay more fluent.

Since the Low Resolution Textures and the Optimization work well together, I made a pack containing both for easier installation. Just extract the files in your cRPG folder and overwrite.
Download it here http://www.gamefront.com/files/20401156/crpg_pack.rar

ye - it has decreased the amount of crashes and freezes (still get some, though), and it has increased my fps by 10-15 :D

does anyone know if it's possible to have some of the other mods together with low-res and optimization, or will they sort of overwrite eachother?

The graphical enhancement mods replace textures, using low resolution or optimization on them would just replace those custom textures again with the cRPG ones. Only way to use both is if someone makes a different low resolution texture pack for the custom graphical enhancement mods.

k :(

i would really love those realistic colours, but i guess less lags are more important

Low-res pack only changes the textures of the models that cRPG adds to warband, such as any non-native weapons and armor. It should therefore NOT conflict in any way with the different texture packs that deal with the general appearance of the game.

Try installing the low-res and optimization pack. If you are crashing while game is loading that should hopefully fix it. Enabling "load on demand" in settings could also help.

Hi, maybe you fumbled at MoreMetalSounds. Did you download the patch for C-RPG too? Look to the top of this thread. There you will have a link. If you just install Metal Sounds without C-RPG Patch - you crash.

Edit:
MORE METAL SOUNDS
Adds new sounds to cRPG, in general all fighting sounds are more "metalish" and realistic.
Download: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=51681.0
To make it compatible with cRPG you need to replace the Sounds.txt file. You can get the version for patch 0.223 here http://www.mediafire.com/?1mtj0nkdp3n191h
You will also need to get rid of some annoying screaming women sounds, the fix for that is here: http://rapidshare.com/files/454709586/Sounds.zip

to point my finger on it
if its not that - i dont know.

I did find a problem with it though.. It's too snowy, and its hard to work out a way to make it compatible with cRPG. You'd have to do some fishing and discard all the textures that make it tacky and vice versa.

That's odd. Maybe I haven't been playing a lot lately, but when I tried the mod out I haven't even encountered a snowy map.

The thing I did notice though was all the added flora. It was ridiculous how many extra trees were added in the worst spots.

I'm giving Movie WB View a shot now and it's working great.

About the more metal sounds. I fixed the existing sounds.txt file so:
1-You dont get the annoying yelling sounds evertime a girl swings her sword.
2-You dont lose the girl's grunts that usually come while girls swing swords.
3-You get the natural and ocasional female yelling here and there.
4-You dont need the 2 fake sound files.
Here you go guys:

Here's another slightly tweaked version of sounds.txt for more metal sounds mod, with original victory/defeat sounds (bugged me when you couldn't hear the sounds while tabbed out). I used Trikipum's file as base so it has same modified grunts.

http://www.mediafire.com/?gidb5xbpacd7nu9 (http://www.mediafire.com/?gidb5xbpacd7nu9)

Following default sounds are brought back:
 your_flag_taken.ogg
 enemy_flag_taken.ogg
 your_flag_returned.ogg
 you_scored_a_point.ogg
 enemy_scored_a_point.ogg

It's pretty complex to get it to work with a different module....if you can't figure it out, just stick with a different texture pack. I plan (IDK when) to compile all the best textures from that pack and mix them with others, because a lot of the textures are out of place. The pack goes for a "cold" look. A lot of the trees are covered in snow and it just doesn't fit.

I'm liking the metal sounds, at least most of it.  Definitely feels more like a battle is going on, however individual sounds are much harder to distinguish; such as tk hit, glance, full hit, chopping at doors, etc.

Optimization doesn't work for 0.233. Low resolution textures still works without problems (well it doesn't replace the new textures, but that's negligible), so should all the other mods listed.

Hm, I have heard that Polished Landscapes http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,122423.0.html works in cRPG, is this true? I personally think there are too many issues affecting multiplayer - if I see it right from the pics, vegetation (bushes) + tree spawn is different in this?

Funny, I thought More Metallic Sounds works in 0.233. Maybe I haven't paid attention to sounds, odd because I still use old sounds.txt...

Optimization is the only broken one, it leads to invisble weapons and other problems. Low textures doesn't bring any bugs, it just doesn't replace all textures with low resolution ones. But since like 90% are old textures it doesn't really matter and it should still enhance your performance.

OLD BOW CONVERSION PACK

This mod converts all new cRPG bow textures to the old Native ones.
Download and details here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,6183.msg133239.html#msg133239
To install it replace the ranged_new.brf file from your Resource folder of the cRPG module with the new one in the archive.

OLD BOW ANIMATIONS
This mod changes new bow animations to the old beloved ones. A warning before using is that the hitboxs may be slight off when trying to aim for someone when they have their bow ready. Other than that it works great.
Download and details here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,6183.msg133239.html#msg133239

LOW RESOLUTION TEXTURES
Not really a mod, but fixes most random FPS drops that appeared with the new patch with no noticeable effects on texture quality. Just replace your Textures folder from cRPG module with the one in the archive.
Download and details here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,5335.0.html

OPTIMIZATION
If you still experience FPS drops after installing the Low Resulution Textures, I suggest intalling the optimization too, it granted me an extra 10 FPS and made the overall gameplay more fluent.
Download and details here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,6967.0.html
- not updated for 0.233

Since the Low Resolution Textures and the Optimization work well together, I made a pack containing both for easier installation. Just extract the files in your cRPG folder and overwrite.
Download it here http://www.gamefront.com/files/20401156/crpg_pack.rar

It's only one handed swords at the moment but it is seriously awesome. It gives the heirloom levels 1, 2 and 3 new looks, and adds only two new textures to the game! So it doesn't increase loading times.

MOVIE WB VIEW is broken, specifically the 'expanded horizons' files within it. I receive one of those windows error sounds and then the 'expanded horizon' is nothing more than a gray pane surrounding the entire map. I've had to reinstall this 3 times, and nothing I can think of helped.  :(

And finally, is there a way to replace the existing samurai armors with something a bit more realistic, like european lamellar armors? I could also try to build a mini-mod myself since I already modded a bit, but I don't have any resources to replace them with at the moment. Mixing gear from 6th to 15th century is acceptable in my opinion but not weaboo!

BTW

If its the ui_gadget file you have downloaded, then its really easy. Just replace downloaded ui_gadget file with that one in warband/textures folder. Remember to save the original file - in case you want it back.
It has to be the warband/textures folder NOT the textures folder in your modules/crpg. Though if you modifie your module.ini
you can make it too i guess.
Hope this helped.
