Title: New Law IRL (Trolling)
Post by: //saxon on March 28, 2012, 11:48:52 pm
In the UK The Authority has recently found out about trolling on the internet and has now made sentencing for trolling aloud by police. This includes: Email, Social Networking sites, Games(Online) and a few more
this means ANY sort of trolling to make other people's lives hard to entertain your own life. the thought of bullying other people and saying anything you want just because you know your safe in your hiding hole.

Bring All the Trolls to JUSTICE!!!

So now that there's little left to colonize and impose our laws on we move to cyberspace.

The thought is interesting, but this is beyond impossible to enforce in any practical sense and will become part of the "I don't have anything, so throw the book at them and find something" laws.

If little Timmy throws himself down a well because of trolling it looks like the parents could do a little bribing to get some info.

Fucking nanny state...

Yes it's not nice when your feelings are hurt, but it's not necessarily against the law.  If someone came up to you and said you were ugly and fat it's not against the law.  If someone created an elaborate lie to gain your sympathy and then say "haha you're a fucking idiot" after you fell for their story, it's not against the law.  But if you do it online, you're breaking the law?

LOL...fucking moral laws can blow me sideways while I'm doing illegal drugs off of newborn babies.  Good thing I'm not in the UK or I could get in some trouble for that comment.

I think it's to do with things like people using 'troll' accounts on facebook to write abusive things on say a page dedicated to someone who died, there's a big difference between that and many other kinds of 'trolling', I wouldn't even call that trolling, it's just tasteless and brainless abuse, infact it insults the meaning of trolling and I am glad people can't keep hiding behind fake names and accounts to torment people about their dead family members.

I have been compiling reports against cRPG forum trolls for months now to report to the proper authorities.  For a small fee I am willing to let a few documents go missing.

PM me if you want to have your name removed... I'm sure we can work something out.

Really, in the UK? Well, I don't live there so I wouldn't have heard about it.
Oh wait, I just remembered I do live there and I still haven't heard about any "sentencing for trolling aloud by police" whatever that might be.

on a serious note i suppose this makes sense,in america slander can be brought to court depending on the situation and how malicious the statements are ,i hope its stuff of that nature and not the Timmy's mom is upset due to johnny's remarks on how fat she is lulz

its not to do with random trolling :P it is as was said mainly to bring those people who go to facebook pages about people who die.

Few get charged but this guy did Sean duffy

"He targeted Natasha MacBryde, who threw herself under a train close to her home in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, on Valentine’s Day this year.
The next day, Duffy trashed her Facebook memorial page, branding the public schoolgirl a ‘spoiled little ****’.
He attached to her tribute site another Facebook page entitled Tasha MacTank Engine featuring a video in which the face of the Royal Grammar School Worcester pupil was put on a train with the theme to Thomas the Tank Engine playing in the background. "

"Duffy also created a Facebook page attacking 14-year-old Lauren Drew, who died in January following an epileptic fit at her home in Gloucester.
Fuelled by alcohol, he cruelly targeted her grieving mother, impersonating her dead daughter on the website, saying: ‘Help me Mummy, it’s hot in Hell.’
Also he sent her msgs pretending to be her dead daughter trapped in a coffin  "i cant get out of the coffin ive scratched my nails to the bone"

If thats your kind of trolling then i hope someday you recieve a sound beating from the ones you trolled.

There is a difference in 90% of net trolling and shit like that :P thats what the law was for

I think this law is a just one, going to people's facebook sites like that is disgusting. It's in line with "defacement" I guess, if you went to a persons grave and defaced it, that would more than likely be considered a malicious crime.

lol in UK? That country ruled by a monarch like in medieval on an ugly rainy polluted island? It's hardly Europe...

England is not quite as horrible as you may think:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Turing

-English mathematician who practically won World War II and gave you that computer which you wrote this on and play cRPG through.

Oh look, a debate on which country is better then another!

I'll just leave this here...

This is usually how I feel about United States v Europe (sorry Canada and Mexico, you're just not on this one):

Even though the above is more an America VS Teh EU, the same arguement can be said for almost every country. Every country has something good about it, and truly this sort of topic belongs in the other General Talk forum.

That was not my intention, I was just pointing out the irony in his condescension of England. He would not be able to condescend us without our invention :)
