These two weapons costs are really close but stats are nowhere near as good.
I like the look of the Heavy Great Sword and it would be nice to see more of it.
Heavy Great Sword
weapon length: 120
weight: 2.7
difficulty: 14
speed rating: 92
weapon length: 120
thrust damage: 22 pierce
swing damage: 39 cut
slots: 2
Cost: 11.701
Sword of War
weapon length: 121 (+1)
weight: 3 (+0.3)
difficulty: 15 (+1)
speed rating: 93 (+1)
weapon length: 121 (+1)
thrust damage: 23 pierce (+1)
swing damage: 40 cut (+1)
slots: 2
Cost: 12.871 (+1170)

The 1000 additional gold is more than worth it for an all around better weapon. Decrease the cost of the Hvy Greatsword.
-
+1
If the Sword of War gets that much over the Heavy Greatsword for 1k, the Great Sword shouldn't be as good as it is compared to the German Greatsword, which is about 3k more expensive.

Heavy Bastard Sword vs Longsword
-
I agree. The Heavy Great Sword is the red-headed stepchild of the large swords.
-
Actually this would be a chance to make a greatsword able to be used in strategus.
Nerf HGS Damage to 37 Cut, Nerf Speed to 91, Reduce cost to 4000-5000, give heirloompoints to former owners.
=> Got a sword that can be used in Strategus

With those stats that sword'll only get used by people who aren't smart enough to buy a Shortened Military Scythe.

Make the heavy 6.7K gold (in line with the Longsword). Alternatively, make it even cheaper since it's clearly an inferior weapon.
-
HGS could be the Highland's small brother.
-
I agree HGS needs to fall down with a lower sword class. It suuuuucks as is.

Heavy Bastard Sword vs Longsword
And this too.

Since Sword of War became horribly ugly, Heavy Greatsword is the most wallping sword around. Lower upkeep would be nice, but the notion of further decreasing its damage strikes me as very silly, considering it's a "heavy great sword"...
-
I had an idea while messing around with the shortened scythe. Everything has already been done in the HGS's current tier. You have the great sword as a stabby-2h, the claymore as choppy-2h and the sword of war as a balanced-2h. Why not bump the HGS's thrust to something like 25-27, its speed to 93 and switch its current thrust animation from your standard 2h thrust to the polearm thrust? You could rationalize it as having a blade too heavy to stab from the hilt with. That would certainly make it different from the other two-handed swords in that tier; and not entirely rubbish (comparatively) like it is now.
-
I think it's not a bad idea...wouldn't make a lot of sense, but hey, whatever.
Alternatively, they could just add 2 cut damage and make it the slower, shorter, cheaper, more cut oriented brother of the SoW.

Leave damage, reach and price, but buff speed by 2. With 94 speed this sword will find place at battlefield
