Title: Siege map submissions for official servers

You made a siege map and would like to see it on the official EU and NA servers? This is the place to submit it.

There are some basic rules if you want your map to be considered:
Maps will be added in packs rather then one by one, so it might be a while until your map is added. You might also be requested to do some adjustements, ranging from balancing changes to bugfixing.

Tested the map. The flag is difficult to capture, mainly because of the spawn points of the defenders.

Hah, the spawn points work, but the spawn script for siege makes the attackers spawn far out in the water, and some defenders as well. I have no solution, the entry points are placed properly. Scrap it.

If it spawns ppl far out the map, you probably forgot one of the spawnpoints. At least this was the problem on Holmet Castle.

For some reason ladders dont work very well with walls on this map.
And it feels like your map is causing some lag for players.
I always feel like im lagging if i play your map ;)

Northern Lighthouse v.2

Lonely, but well defended lighthouse surrounded by sea and sharp cliffs.
Attackers have to conquer the furthest part of castle - a lighthouse, but there is several ways to do this.

I just finished my second siege map (first was Winter Castle).
Its a desert city with an underground lake.
Attackers already stormed the walls and are now trying to conquer the lake to get in control of the water.

I hope you enjoy this map.

For sure a lot of balance has to be done but i have to get feedback from players first.

Description:

Attackers already have walls taken and are now heading down to the flag at the lake to get control over the water reserves.
There are 3 doors inside the castle to get down to the flag and you could also come from behind over the entry at the lake.
You cant get inside the second wall of the city cause this part of the map is not relevant (but should be obvious after you played it the first time).
I prevented leechers from hiding there with invisible walls.

Changes
•Added a Ladder to the Trade Post upper floor, the attackers can now use this ladder as a secondary way over the inner wall.

•Removed the Ladder on the outer south east Gaurd Tower.

•Removed the front pair of doors on the outer gate.

•Removed inner gate

•Re-worked inner gate area and archers nest to make it more fun.

•Re-arranged the defensive spawns; moved spawns to the inner rampart and back rocks and north outer wall guard tower.

•Re-arranged offensive spawns; Split the spawns into two groups and placed them much closer to the front gate and siege tower.

•Re-pathed the Siege tower so that it now will land on the frontal southeast outer wall near the rocks. Also shortened the length of the tower's path.

•Moved the flag to a new position.

Fort Rhuin:

Siege map set in a motte and bailey styled castle. There are three ways inside; the front gates which can be destroyed, a ladder off to the left of the castle and a not so hidden back entrance which defenders will want to be watching closely. This map features a 'pit of death' gate trap in front of the main castle (not the destroyable gates below).

Now there may be a few issues:

-My primary concern would be the
 attacker walk distance to flag. I've tested this and it doesn't seem
 unreasonable to me, but it's hard to tell when not in an in-game
 session.

-Another concern of mine would be the usefulness of the purple
 path. I had this path in place before I adjusted the flag location
 so It doesn't significantly cut down the walk time to flag. However,
 I see it as another path which can be used to circumvent any
 particularly well-organized defending team's defensive line on the
 bridge.

-Also because of my reorganizing of the flag position the back-most
 castle lacks a certain amount of utility... It does, however, make a
 spectacular backdrop! ^^

Had a look at it again, and it looks good. Creative use of some of the scene props, and the map has originality :)

With the next version of siege mode, I'm intending to add custom round time limits per map, so that should help balance the current maps, and open up for new kinds of maps as well.

Overview :

Castle in a marsh environment that holds strategic importance. 

Attackers come from 2 areas (not far - attack spawn 1 to gatehouse run ~ 20 sec) and assault outer walls which enclose a small courtyard, then transcend the keep by climbing either the stone switchback stairway on the front (main path, has rails to help prevent too much falling), or the more precarious wooden stair scaffolding on the backside of the keep.  To breach the outer wall circle, the attackers can use 2 siege ladders flanking the gatehouse, the siege tower, or the somewhat hidden postern in the rear of the castle (1 breakable door).  The gatehouse operates using a winch & portculis.

A couple (6) of defender spawns are on top of the keep where flag is.  The rest are scattered around the outer wall ring.

Possible Additions/Revisions:

- Could possibly need a siege ladder more on backside...right now only option on rear half of castle is postern doors
- Could need optimized (smoke, objects, etc)

Possible Bugs:

- When loaded with bots, it seems siege ladder entry points spawned bots on defense team....even though they are correctly numbered 100 and 101.  Might just be weird editor/bots thing.

Updated Rochester Castle with a couple things:

- Updated to move most defender spawns OFF of the flag area and down to walls, and made postern have 1 door, rather than 2.

Overview :

Siege on a traditional motte & bailey settlement - a keep surrounded by a small walled village. 
The outer defenses are weaker and have already been broken through by a previous attack - so the attackers just need to rush across the bridge and into the village below the keep. Once inside, the attackers can either choose to go right or left as they fight through the village - each route leads to a stair up to a breakable door into the keep's courtyard where the flag is (entry into the keep is NOT necessary for attackers, the flag is out in the courtyard). 

Defenders spawn within the keep, on the walls surrounding the keep's courtyard, and scattered throughout the village buildings.  Defense of the village below the keep will probably largely be a fighting retreat towards the keep - which is intended.  Over time, defense will fall back to the walls around the keep and the courtyard itself.

DEVONSHIRE KEEP - PATCH V1.2

This was way too easy for attackers to take especially because of door bug first round, and also spawns do not function as intended (actually need to ask you questions about that Mustikki).  This may not be the final answer but right now its almost a gaurenteed 3x win for attackers.

- Added breakable gate doors at attacker spawns to slow them down
- Added more defendable wall inside courtyard near flag
- Adjusted some spawns of defenders

Sorry about updates, learning how spawns work (or dont work that is) made me change some stuff slightly, and Devonshire needed a bit more work to be complete.  This should be it for updates for awhile until I see the maps played out a lot more.

1.Spawn point fix i hope. :? :? attackers where spawning in side the rightside tower. The spawn points are correct. i moved them around. i hope this will fix it. if not get rid of the map. it will too hard to figerout the problem.

DEVONSHIRE KEEP (1.4)  7/2/2012
Palisade outer walls were destructable apparently!  weak too.  So this hotfix changes that replaceing them with the earth walls.

Also :

- fixed outer walls, not destructable now
- removed gate from outer walls, passage is open now
- each way into flag courtyard now has 2 doors, and a small courtyard between the two for defense
- revised defenses around flag area SLIGHTLY
- added back way into/out of keep

Overview :
A monastery set high in a snowy mountain range.  Attackers cross a short bridge and attack main gates of monastery (there is also a staircase on the left of the main gate where they can try to attack as well but could be highly defended).  Once through, they come into a somewhat defensible courtyard (main courtyard) and then must fight up onto a second smaller courtyard (second courtyard), and finally through some doors that are open, but only slightly ajar - making a chokepoint for defenders to hold.  Once inside the sanctuary, the attackers come to the flag, but there are many places for ranged defenders to slow them down.

If the attack on the main gates is not going well, there is also a tunnel way around the right side from the main gates.  This tunnel is quite a long run and has a door that has to be broken, but it comes out at a switchback staircase that leads attackers up to the top of the sanctuary.  But the flag is on the ground floor of the sanctuary, so any attackers that went this route would have to then traverse down a ladder and down stairs to the flag.

- Have to see if attack is able to overwhelm defense too easily, since run from spawn to flag is relatively short

Looking good Elindor. Just concerned how all the benches will affect the movement in the flag area, but we will see. Once again, nice castle design.

People may hate the pews, yeah.  But if so I can take them out, should be used defensively.

I think just lessen the amount so there more spacing between them. that should help with movement

1. All attacker entrypoints are together now.
2. All attackers entrypoints where moved away form the defender entrypoints.
3. Moved some defender entypoints away from attackers entrypoints.

I did some reading on the forums on entrypoints. I do beleave this is now fixed. The attackers and defenders entrypoints where too close together. I looked at the map overhead and you could see why it was messedup.

MANY SMALL CHANGES for GAMEPLAY and BALANCE
- lowered entire keep structure for overall gameplay enchancement/balance
- altered buildings and added stairs in courtyard to allow more access from walls down to courtyard without dmg
- added moveable siege ladders from walls to sides of keep structure, allowing bypassing of certain parts of the ascent
- added additional postern door (2 now)
- revised some defensive spawnpoints for better access to stairways and courtyard access
- MOVED DEFENSE SPAWN CENTER (Entry Point 0) to top of keep, center of castle
- Moved attacker spawns across bridge closer to castle

Ok, small update to the monastery...

HIMMELSBERG MONASTERY (1.1)  7/23/2012
All pretty minor changes overall since I think this one was mostly balanced, but should overall give offense a slightly better chance.

- made main door opening into sanctuary (where flag is) slightly WIDER
- increased visibility and access from the main courtyard to the SIDE STAIRS (leads to roof of sanctuary)
- widened overhang platforms on second story of sanctuary to allow for easy descent from roof
- revised and slightly minimized the pews in the sanctuary to allow for better combat flow
- removed a number of candles and other particle creating objects to help reduce any FPS lag that may have been present

Haven't seen any updates on the Map Rotation thread....Mustikki, Jacko?  I only bring this up cause the current version of Rochester makes people rage quit  :oops:

Been tones of updates to maps, updated rochester yesterday. Just been to lazy to write em out.

Cool, thanks Jacko.  People just hated the vertical on the old version so it was killing server.  Hopefully once server is restarted that new change will go in (much shorter keep in middle, etc) and it wont be so bad anymore :)

Why there are so many nice maps in this topic and most of them are unused, instead some super bad ones are implemented. I don't know the name but one with gate and flag next to cave is like team deathmatch. No diffrent routes no important points to capture.

I wish to submit my siege map tot he oficial map rotation.

I hope you find the map balanced, i am willing to change anything to make it work right.

The fighting is mainly done on the ground and flag stairway, not on the walls, this is one of those maps that are easy to open the gate right at the beggining.

Windfall Castle

Siege map that has had the front wall destroyed by catapults and trebuchets. Attackers go through the wall, up to the second wall and climb it. There are other alternative ways in though.
