Following already finished all cRPG FALLEN CLAN TOURNAMENT the other one follows. Invited to come is everybody - not only those that get invitation into their clan threads. But only clan members that will be able to form specified teams are allowed to participate in the event.

There will be multiple fights on one special map among multiple clans. No need to negotiate with other clans where or when or on what map to meet. Everything will happen in one session within like 2 hours. Rankings of this tournament will be recorded and updated into a CLAN FALLEN LADDER.


BASIC RULES
1 - Absolutely no fighting outside the ranked tournament fights, no jumping down the tribune, no suiciding or killing teammates to regain health (if you want to regain health, rejoin via spectator). No punching or kicking of other players!!!!
2 - Clan team size is 7 people, 1 clan can form only 1 clan team
3 - Maximum ammount of members of 1 clan logged at one time on the server is 10
4 - Registrations are CLOSED.
5 - For registering: apply in this thread, include clan name and visual style (visual style goes only to body armors, other armor is free. for more info check previous clanthread before asking)
6 - No spawning on horse, only Tournament masters can spawn on one. Always listen to tournament masters, never hit them back.
7 - Server will be in CTF mode - if your team is called into the tournament fight you have to join appropriate faction (the 1st one called joins upper faction, the 2nd clan called joins lower faction).
8 - If you're recording the event and you're not clan member, please appy here too so you won't be kicked.
9 - Server will be passworded, the password will appear here: ?????
10 - Common sense
11 - Maximum 2 ranged weapons / team (1 ranged weapon = 1 bow OR 1 xbow OR 1 stack of throwing weapons)
12 - No looting of any weapons from the ground (like retaking throwing weapons from the ground, shields etc...)
13 - Rules can change further on

ALREADY REGISTERED CLANS
1 - Fallen Brigade (visual style: black coat of plates) registered by Beauchamp
2 - the Risen (visual style: druzhina armor) registered by Thowex
3 - Caravan Guards (visual style: khergit guard armor) registered by Lansamur
4 - the Order of Rose (visual style: heraldic) registered by Krakatit
5 - HRE (visual style: heraldic) registered by Quirian
6 - the Strangers (visual style: heraldic) registered by 3ABP

SUBSTITUTIONS - in the case any of the previous clans is not coming
7 - Mercenaries (visual style: ?pending?) registered by Xant
8 - Ninjas (visual style: black lamellar and other appropriate ninja stuff) registered by Ninja_Korgoth
9 - Smart Gaming (visual style: heraldic) registered by VVarlord
10 - the Turks (keeping the spot reserved)

TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
1 - there are no qualifiers
2 - every clan will fight all of their rivals once - for 6 participating clans it means 5 fights/clan (15 fights together)
3 - for every killed enemy your clan gets 1 point, for victory you get 2 additional points (this means for victory you get 9 points - 7 for kills and 2 for a victory, for defeat you can get 0-6 points depending on number of enemies killed).
4 - if under any circumstances your clan fights with lower ammount of people, your missing teamates are considered as killed (other team will get points just like for killing them).
5 - the clan with the most points after all fights are done wins the tournament
6 - if number of points is equal than: mutual duel (that already happened) and than number of deaths decide about the final rank

NOTE: Depending on number of clans signing in, the tournament will be done within 1 session during Thursday (6 or less clans in the tourney) or there will be 2 groups for qualifying when the 1st one will take place during Thursday and 2nd group probably during Saturday evening with having finals during Sunday evening (this goes for 8 or more participating clans option). If your clan joins as the last one and will get odd number in the registrations, there is a possibility you won't be able to participate in the tournament.

there will (PROBABLY) be some less strict requirements on body armor style - allowing you to wear for example 2 various body armors if they'd look similar. people will have banners over head so it shouldnt cause problems, but i liked that uniform appearance of previous tournament, it was good for others, recording etc...

its complicated to tell how it will exactly look like since i don't know how many clans can sign.

6 or 8 - the whole thing could be done during thursday
10 or more - it could be 2 days event - 1st group qualifiers on thursday, 2nd group qualifiers probably on saturday, finals probably on sunday
the more info i will have, the more exactly i can say how the things will look like.
but what is certain - tournament will be done or 1st qualifiers will be done during thursday (this weekend is to early as people voted and i don't have time the other days during reasonable times)

There seems to be much confusion about what "thursday" is, so allow me to clear things up.

Thursday (pronounced /ˈθɜrzdeɪ/ or /ˈθɜrzdi/  ( listen)) is the fourth day of the week according to the ISO 8601 international standard adopted in most western countries. In countries that use the Sunday-first convention and in the Judeo-Christian calendar it is the fifth day of the week. It falls between Wednesday and Friday.

there still will be a lot of new stuff to test (map, new mode, server...) so even from this point i don't mind this to be smaller tourney. i doubt big clans can't make a 7ish team on Thursday evening, well if they won't be able, it will just be a smaller tourney. if they will be able to sign, its quite possible there will be 2 qualifying rounds (thursday, saturday) as i said.

I think there was a group of better (Elite) Mercs around somewhere. Being elite, they'd do a better job than regular Mercs anyway.

Then if the Elite Mercs can't make it, they can hire some Mercs too. And so on.

Wow, that's high...

The only solution is to make ping your armour. Spam wildly at all times, do not stop pressing LMB. If you lose the tournament, blame your ping. If you win, celebrate your skill under difficult circumstances.

like stop fucking complaining, all i hear from mercs are constant complains and from razzen constant complains about his ping. either assemble the team or go fuck yourself. either read there is another server or go fuck yourself too. or do you think its a pleasure constantly listen to your continous bullshit?

Whats all this shit about thursday? I go out and stuff on some friday and saturday nights so weekday nights are the best for stuff like this. So you get a few less hours sleep than normal. Its only 1 night.

Depends on how big the qualifiers will be. For 8 clans its 4 clans/qualifier group (so a bit over 40 people) - there would be a room for independent spectators. If qualifiers will be bigger (5 clans/qualifier group) there probably won't be a place for u unless you're going to record it.

aye for sure, will update that. don't forget to post the visual style once you agree on something.

right now we've got 9 clans in a tournament - for this option all qualifiers will be done during thursday (3 groups of 3 clans, 2 going into 6 members finals). it will be difficult to organize but i think it could be done.

if there will be 10 clans, we will have 2 days event (thursday, saturday) for qualifiers, the same goes for 12 clans enlisted (always 3 clans going into the finals). if there will be 11 applications, the unlucky 11th one won't probably participate.

finals will be on sunday.

p.s. 12 clans is maximum for this tournament

ok the qualifiers can't be done during 1 day as we're quite many. please post for your clan on what days you're able to fight - if on both OR on both but you prefer 1 day over the other OR if you can fight only during 1 day.

possible times are:
THURSDAY 20:00 24.2. GMT
SATURDAY 20:00 26.2. GMT



the tournament system will be:

registrations will be closed on tuesday or when 12th clan signs up. if 11 clan sign only, 11th one won't participate and will be only as a substitution in a case anybody from earlier registered clans won't be able to make it.

finals will be:
SUNDAY 19:00 27.2. GMT


i suppose the brigade will probably be able to fight on both days, so we will adjust according to the other ones...

sometimes i start to feel like surrounded by idiots, especially in crpg community...

- last time the tourney was on saturday and people complained, aye ok people complain always about everything (sometimes they are right, sometimes just because they are retarded). but its true that the best day is sunday evening (as sbdy said in previous tourney threads). but sunday is the same day when brigade has training and brigade comes first so i didn't want to cancel it.
- anyways after those complains i said to me, lets test a day in a week when i have a time to organize it (thursday).
- the original idea also was that the tournament will be rather a small one because there are still things to be tested (for this thursday seemed ideal because i though it will limit a bit a number of participants)
- but quite a lot of people wanted to join anyways eventhough it was thursday. so i said ok, if you join so many there will be qualifiers probably on 2 different days - 1st on thursday and 2nd probably on saturday.
- so logicaly it started with thursday date with probable qualifiers on saturday if there will be many participants (over 6 clans joining)
- we've got many (more than 6 clans joining) meaning there will be saturday qualifiers for those that can come on saturday and not on thursday 
- still even for thursday date 10 clans registered (i have no problem with a few of them willing to fight on saturday preferably - its opposite in fact because just by signing into original time and than telling you can fight on saturday you say you're able to fight on both times)
- the 2nd part of the idea for more participants was that big clans will be able to field teams any day so they will just adjust according to smaller ones (for example risen will fight probably only on thursday, lets say roses will fight only on saturday etc.. and the big ones will just adjust according to small ones).
- i also don't want to make qualifiers on 1 day as it would possibly last over 3 hours nonstop with various people joining on different times.

after writing all this text i don't even understand why you constantly ask about saturday being a better day, are you just trolling or retarded xant?

UPDATE

I decided to stick to the original idea - meaning 6 spots are guaranteed and Thursday being the only day for the tournament (it will be again 1 day event with no qualifiers) - it will be a smaller tournament, half for fun and still half for testing things out. Everybody registered on 7th place and later is a substitute for the case if any clan from previous 6 registered is not coming.

i'll update the tournament info into the main post

i don't suppose anybody would be willing to sign later to be 5th substitute so you can consider registrations to be closed.

i noticed that making things complicated really doesn't work. simple tournament, simple 1 event as was originaly announced in begining will work the best. all the rest is staying of course (rules about number of clanmembers, people from clan logged onto server etc... rules are extremely simple, clear and short compared to the previous event, everybody can read them within 2 minutes). aye and now i will have some beer, pilsner urquell...

p.s.
updated the tournament system - scoring of matches, rules for winning match/tournament etc...

as i said, i made things easier for me. i made it wrong when i said there may be 2 days qualifiers if more clans will join. it was a mistake.
 
it caused a confusion and more work for me organizing it and others saying when they can or can't join. also SG were unsure about being able to come and Turks haven't confirmed until now if they wanted to fight or not.

we could easily come up into a situation when number of participants will decrease on friday when thursday's qualifiers would be over. so we'd have finished qualifiers for 4 clans for example but only 3 waiting for saturday. i can imagine all those complains afterwards so i made it simple and easy - as it was announced and planned originaly.

when there is going to be next tournament it will be announced for 2 days qualifiers since begining with strictly given dates etc... so there will be no confusion.

8 participants with 7 clanmembers is not possible to make in 1 event (server limit is 60 people)

Depending on your machine you can record with xFire @  100 Fps. Ultra demanding since its a direct capture, but also quite nice results.

Ill check this all out real quick today in the evening...

About that Editing...well I was planning to get into Sony Vegas for 2 months now... Guess it is time to do so...maybe not this tournament, but later ones.

Ill do some testing today about what is needed just to ensure the viewers biggest satisfaction when watching those vids :-)

So to do list as follows:

1. Get the best settings + testing as a youpor..ehm youtube upload.

Will be set today.

Next is getting into Vegas...this might take me some weeks.

The idea of two viewers recording is awesome, does require the same game/recording setup + mods + minimal editing skill.

Maybe some HRE guy has a heavy machine and some spare time....we ll see.

NOTE:
The newly designed arena is flat without almost any obstacles, if you want your team can also take a couple of siege shields for the round. But DO NOT deploy construction sites as they can't be destroyed!

The map will be set to CTF mode. The flags are inside the arena, however they have nothing to do with the fights - so please do not step over them to take them. If you take them, they only make you slower moving, other than that you won't benefit at all from this.

Errr, we also tested the server with at least 30-40 people and the CTF mode and it didn't lag. The server shouldn't lag, it's the same sort of a machine that runs crpg 1/3 etc.

ok tournament is finished, everybody was extremely organized - thx a lot for that as it made organizing way easier, ctf mode worked very well without dropping people down. i will try to ask our mapmaker to adjust the map (make it smaller) or just design a new smaller one. i think next tournament can be more complicated, with way more participants (probably for smaller teams so more clans can join of with qualifiers set up since begining on 2 days so more clans can participate at times they favor.

of course feel free to come up with any ideas, ty all who attended the tourney.

I've seen really strong Risen and Hre, great teamwork. You guys showed that you don't need immense individual skills to win a clan tournament, teamwork is essential. (I'm not saying you guys are no skilled...)
I enjoyed our game against the Guards, where I killed 6 on the 7 guys of the opposing team. (No skill, just ks... :twisted:)

I personally had hard lags spikes, but that is due to my connexion, so no problemo. Maybe people use the lag excuse to justify their bad performance? :?

Well... I performed badly, but lags were a part of that too. like in the last battle of us Guards, where i was the last man standing and 2 attacked me - lag - dead. Not that I would've beaten them, but still, it was there.

Anyways, good fun, Risen: well done. Overestimated our and underestimated your power.

Risen actually have 1 of the best fighters on the server and they were also probably in the strongest setup on the tournament. 2handers also proved as dominating class for the tourneys like this one. I'm only surprised I haven't seen any throwing lances or more crushthrough weapons.

was nice to see a new clan participating (strangers). as i said : the next tourney will be made ahead with 2 days qualifiers (so everybody can find a better date in advance) or for smaller clanteams so more clans will be able to join.

i hope vmega recorded something, at least he spoke about that on forums.

Any chance you will introduce a gold limit for teams in the near future? I just don't like the idea of everyone running around in plate/nearly-plate armor while using the best weapons and shields. Or atleast a max-armor limit of some sort.

Also, why do you equal 1 bow/crossbow with 1 stack of throwing? Just strange, if you allow a normal archer/crossbowman, why not a normal thrower (= 2 stacks) too? As you said yourself, 2hand guys closing in with shields are the dominating force there, thats because there is no one allowed to counter them.

vMega didnt record anything yesterday. I proudly admit I therefore got wasted and teamkilled a lot.
Simple facts:
My recordings look rather super awesome (Filesize ~ 900 mb per minute).

Tried many rendering methods (mpeg 1+2+4, wmv 11, compressed .avi)none of the qualitysettings proved to be near to the first super material (awesome went to dipshit imo allthough many ppl would say its good)
Next thing I did was going for an uncompressed .avi
(Filesize naow 17 GB)

Tried to lay h264 Codec over that uncompressed .avi, didnt manage to get it working properly for now (this is used for cs cs:source)

So end of the story for now:

I could simply record stuff, render it, looks ok ...but thats not my style.

Sorry, but 3 hours of time i had for that wasn t enuff, to get into gazillion of codecs and 2 programs xD
So, excuses from my side, but i first want to get my camera working before i start acting like dino velvet (maybe I expect too much)

Tournament was nice bcoz of the disciplined teams.
Last server was unstable, felt more fluent though. This one had major lags.

Guess smbdy who is into map building should simple the map down!

Archery once again has proven useless in such fights. Our archers are good shots, couldnt harm anybody in the first fight against risen though.
Did anybody notice the intended flanking move left and right? xD

Maps can be smaller imo, tactics dont count. Its more about stay together, full melee, kill em.

All in all, tournaments like these on a specially designed (simpler) map and a good running server are the future!!!

well come up with some ideas about limiting that are simple and maybe they can be done. i don't have an idea how to limit people in a simple way so right now i'm not thinking about introducing any limits. maybe only lowering the top tier armor any can take could work - this could balance a bit 1h/2h/polearms class. aye i might do that...

about throwing - its basicly included in this and previous thread why. lets say 2 stacks of throwing lances is more than everybody having a bow. it was not supposed to be ranged tournament.

Oh damn, our 'light' heavy armor is Druzhina Lamellar Armor, which is only a tad better, also yes to big teams!

if top tier possible would be changing from tournament to tournament than no clan would benefit in the end from its armor choice. it would be more fair than to have 1 same limit forever.

Would be nice to have bigger teams, most clans that participated so far had a lot of people staying out of the fights so fielding a 10-12 man team shouldn't be a problem. And smaller clans should team up, but there should be a ladder point penalty for 2 clan teams, otherwise everybody will do it.

The last tournament went really well, people were disciplined, there was no more spam or random killing, the only problem in my opinion was the lag, lag spikes on shogunate server were even worse than on our server last week, we should try a smaller map to see if it's indeed the map that produces the lag, or the gamemode. If it's the gamemode I think we could try siege mode, just with an extended timer, people proved to be disciplined enough to give it a try.

Tbh, i liked 5v5 with many many restrictions.
11 would be cool too, with a lttle less restrictions.

You know I've recorded a bit using fraps too, but it's just too far away, you can't see much.
 I'm a bit disappointed that nobody else was able to record stuff cause there are 2 pages in here discussing it and nobody did it properly. There has to be someone spectating and recording.

Special answer for mtemtko: The only one silly is you. What works are simple things and not complicated ones. I updated main post in thread like 20 times + keep writing into the forums and make polls. Maybe the tournament should be organized by winning clan of last tournament. Its not easy to organize one and when it will
be up to one guy (Beauchamp) then he is bound to lose interest in making them... It is really stresfull to organize 60 ppl :)
