Following already finished all cRPG FALLEN CLAN TOURNAMENTS the other one follows. Invited to come is everybody - not only those that get invitation into their clan threads. But only clan members that will be able to form specified teams are allowed to participate in the event.

There will be multiple fights on one special map among multiple clans. No need to negotiate with other clans where or when or on what map to meet. Everything will happen in three sessions (qualifiers group A, qualifiers group B, finals) - if you don't qualify to finals, you will fight on 1 session only, if you go to finals, you will fight 2 times. Rankings of this tournament will be recorded and updated into the CLAN FALLEN LADDER (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,2080.0.html). The finals will be on Sunday 18:00 GMT

BASIC RULES
1 - Absolutely no fighting outside the ranked tournament fights, no jumping down the tribune, no suiciding or killing teammates to regain health (if you want to regain health, rejoin via spectator). No punching or kicking of other players!!!!
2 - Maximum ammount of members of 1 clan logged at one time on the server is 15.
3 - The highest body armor you can take for the tournament is Heavy Strange Armor
4 - No spawning on horse, only Tournament masters can spawn on one. Always listen to the tournament master, never hit him back.
5 - Use the chat as little as possible, preferably only when the tournament masters ask you something. Spamming the chat will get you muted/kicked/banned and your team penalized.
6 - Server will be in CTF mode - if your team is called into the tournament fight you have to join the same faction as your clanmates. The first team called into the battle joins upper faction, the 2nd team called into the battle joins lower faction!
7 - If you're recording the event and you're not clan member, please appy here too so you won't be kicked.
8 - Server will be passworded, the password will appear here: bushido
9 - No siege equipment (siege shields, ladders, construction sites) allowed.
10 - No looting of any weapons from the ground during the fights (like retaking throwing weapons from the ground, shields etc...)
11 - Common sense
12 - Rules can be discussed and can change further on

PENALTIES
1 - For minor offenses there will be a warning first. This warning can be a written warning or a slash from the tournament master. If the tournament master slashes you it doesnt mean he wants to fight you, it means you are doing something wrong and you have to stop doing it. Keep doing it and you will get kicked. Come back and do it again and you will be banned and your team will be penalized.
2 - For major offenses like entering the arena when a battle is going on or killing the tournament master there will be no warning. Straight ban and your team will get penalized.
3 - If a team uses more ranged weapons than allowed, the fight outcome won't matter, their opponent will receive a 8:0 win.


TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
1 - This tournament will be based on a new qualifying system of 5x3 vs 5x3 fights.
2 - There will be 2 groups for the qualifiers A and B with 6 teams each. There will be 10 matches within each group, everyone will get to fight 10 times. After the qualifiers are over, the first 3 teams from each group go to the Finals.
3-  For every killed enemy your team gets 1 point. So the winner will always get 8 points, the loser can get max 7 points.
4 - If during the qualifiers there are 2 teams with equal number of points, their places will be set by a 1vs1 DUEL between 2 of their members. If the duel is required in the finals for the first place, it will be best of 3.
5 - There will be another 6 team group for the Finals. The system used here will be the same as the previous tournament, 8vs8 fights but every match will be fought twice. There will be a 15 match session where everybody fights 5 times, a short break while I will do the math and announce the partial results, than the first 15 match session is repeated.
6 - If under any circumstances your clan fights with lower amount of people, your missing teammates are considered as killed (other team will get points just like for killing them).
7 - All participants will be awarded ladder points and new entries will be included in the Fallen Ladder (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,2080.0.html). For now I will keep picking the groups myself to have them as balanced as possible, after we will have at least 7-8 tournaments completed groups will be made according to your position on the Ladder.

RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE QUALIFIERS
1 - Clan team size is 5 people, 1 clan can form only 1 clan team
2 - Qualifiers are melee only, no ranged allowed.
3 - The qualifiers will be held in a 5x3 vs 5x3 system. This means all clans from one group will fight every match in different combinations. Yes, you will be fighting alongside 2 other clans against an enemy team of 3 clans.
4 - Points will be awarded based on the already established k:d system - clans from the winning team each get 15 points, clans from the losing team each get max 14 points, depending on how many enemies they killed.
5 - As this is a new system and it can't be seen how it works without testing it I reserve the right to offer an additional +3-5 point bonus to the winners if the results will be too close (to be clear, by too close I mean 3-4 clans with same number of points).
6 - When called, first 3 clans will join upper faction, the other 3 will join lower faction.
7 - Below is the picture of the arena the fights will take place in. First team will form a line along the left wall, second team another line along the right wall.

8 - Considering the fights are 15 vs 15, after a fight is over, the survivors will need to line up as shown in the picture below to be counted before leaving the arena. Leaving the arena earlier means you are considered killed and your enemies get more points.

9 - With the new system being a little more complicated, before the ranked fights there will be a test fight so everyone understand what they need to do.


RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE FINALS
1 - Clan team size is 8 people, 1 clan can form only 1 clan team
2 - Maximum 2 ranged weapons / team (1 ranged weapon = 1 bow OR 1 xbow OR 1 stack of throwing weapons)
3 - Finals will consist in  8vs8 fights like at the previous tournament but every match will be fought twice. There will be a 15 match session where everybody fights 5 times, a short break while I will do the math and announce the partial results, than the first 15 match session is repeated.
4 - When your names are called you will join the appropiate faction - first team joins upper faction, second team joins lower faction and enter the arena. You will not start fighting untill the tournament master gives you the start.
5 - After calling the current fight I will announce the next fight as well. People who fight next must join the appropiate faction and gather at the arena gate so they are ready to enter the arena when called. This way everything will go a lot quicker and everybody will wait less between fights.

REGISTRATIONS
1 - There are 12 slots + 2 substitutes available.
2 - Register your clan by applying in this thread - do not PM me, if you have a question, ask here so others can see the answer and don't have to ask the same thing again. Registrations are opened until Thursday, than the Groups will be decided.
3 - For registering: include clan name and visual style (visual style goes only to body armors while Heavy Strange Armor is the highest you can take, other armor is free of choice. You can't register with the same visual style as the other clans, except for heraldic armors)
4 - When you register, include also the time you want to fight the qualifiers or include that you can fight on both times. There are 2 qualifiers both of them at the same day: Saturday 9/04 . The 1st qualify round is at 16:00 GMT the 2nd qualify round is at 18:00 GMT.
5 - It is still possible to apply to the tournament and still not be allowed to participate. This can happen if you apply late when many clans will be already registered before you and/or if you apply for the same time like majority of the other clans - thus it won't be possible to find a spot for you in the qualifying group. To prevent this: either apply quickly or make sure you can fight on both times. If you will be able to fight on both times it is highly probable that you will make it into the tournament (same goes for early applications as these have priority over those that apply late).

SUMMARY AND EXPLANATIONS
1 - Qualifiers are 5x3 vs 5x3. This way we will have more interesting 15 vs 15 fights, and everyone will face the challenge of fighting for victory together with 2 other clans that might be weaker or stronger then themselves. Also, it means NO DOWNTIME for anyone. There will be 10 fights, everybody will fight in every one of them.
2 - Finals will be pretty much the same as the #5th tournament. The big difference is there will be 2 sessions one after the other. This way every single fight will be fought twice, thus greatly reducing the random/luck factor.
3 - Many clans complained about the qualifiers being held Saturday evening, therefore team size was reduced to 5 players during the qualifiers, fielding 5 players shouldn't be a problem to anyone. Finals stay in the classic 8v8 format.
4 - The tournament will take place on Shogunate_Dojo server, so there will be no more ping problems for danish players.
5 - There was some confusion about the correct time last tournament. The current GMT time can be checked here (http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/), the GMT time never changes, your timezones got +1 hour because of the summertime.
6 - Considering the more complicated qualifying system, discipline will be essential. I really liked the behaviour shown at the last tournament, especially during the finals and I hope it will stay this way.

I think this will prevent the 'teaming', in fallen tournament 4 where it was 4 v 4 v 4, and 2 clans teaming on 1 clan.

If they do this here, it will be with a risk.
Since we have 3 clans, i don't assume they will all 3 be on the same talking channel. Is it possible to use the team chat for tactics?

Yes, of course but without spamming it. There will be no "teaming" as each 3 clans are in one faction and fighting against the other 3.

a.) no offence, you're good at organizing tournaments, but having one each weekend is abit too much/often

b.) we're gonna have a clan match vs the Grey Order on this weekend for the Shogunate Clan Tournament, we think that's enough .

This is a bit of a special situation as with Easter next weekend there will be no tournament, and I have some exams after that as well. After this clan tournament there won't be another one for at least 2 weeks.

Original idea was to have a tournament every 2 weeks, I don't plan to make it wear off by weekly tournaments.

Is this tournament open to NA-based clans?  Some folks in the Tsardom TS have been talking about getting involved in this kind of semi-regular tournament and this seems like a great opportunity.

NA clans have participated in the past, if you can deal with the EU pings you are welcome to come.

As there were no other requests, the groups won't be changed anymore.

Also, I ask everyone to read the rules and instructions and make sure they understand them, especially the ones for the qualifiers. This system is the most complex we tried so far so discipline and understanding what your are supposed to do is essential for this to work.

Thanks for the tournament.

Personally i think it was retarted, as there was more luck then actual skill needed for this kind of system. Luck as in..... starting the match... and hoping your allied clans will adapt, or understand the strategy. Or what also happend in one round, all 3 clans happend to gank up on the mercs.
I quess next tournament like this.... if you want your clan too get the most points. Start from the middle position, with your allied clans to your left and right. So if the zerg gets flanked, the other clans will lose numbers first, giving your clan a bigger chance too have more standing at the end.

Did the greys not get a -10 on points this time around, for bringing too many stacks of throwing in an earlier tournament ?

I completely forgot about the Grey's penalty, you are right. Standings changed.

As for the tournament system, it was ment to provide fun and intense fights and it did. If all tournaments would be held in the same classic qualifiers/finals system it will soon get boring and they would wear off.

for next tourney aside from usual rules - it is important you don't leave the arena before the remaining player count!!! i know blackpit did it couple of times and thuss his score was not added to the team!

You cannot have 3 separate clan, on 3 separate Teamspeaks, with 3 separate idea's work together..... at least not on such a short time. Where they need to scamble up in the arena, and start fighting withing 10 seconds. If 2 clans plan to go left and 1 of them plans to go right at the start, it throws you off.. and gives you a bigger chance too lose.

Its a quessing game realy... more then a tournament.

True, it was fun too watch, also great map.

If such a system would be implemented again for such event. I wouldnt call it a tournament... but more of a friendly brawl  :lol:

as far as i remember they should be deprived of some points...

btw i like the system - its nice when you fight all the time. the original idea was that having good players in the team will always mean that the team will play better. either this is not true or mercs weren't those better players tonight.

PS. Jambi, Don’t  be so scrupulous. When Mercs had too many lances, the match was repeated and was no penalty points. Our problem was that a person with a lances, it was an emergency replacement and didn’t read the rules (lol) No one has noticed this fact (the judge also), but it’s no longer relevant. It's just fun and we don’t want to be petty like you...

And one more thing, do not talk nonsense about Turks, because they played a lot better than you! Congratulations to the Turks and Risen!!!

The 2nd tourney lasted less then 30 minutes, the first one like 40 or a bit more. People in the 2nd one were just awesome - always listening to Punisher, always doing everthing right and quickly. I was trying hard to kick or at least hit anyone, but I really couldn't find anybody!!! I liked that a lot (except for how we sucked) but it unluckily starts to become a rule when we fight in tourneys, still I couldn't imagine it could be as horrible as today.

This isn't the most balanced system as group performance is measured rather than individual clan performance. But it was great fun watching it (and I hope it was fun fighting too), and having fun is one of the main goals of these tournaments. Sure I could do the same classic system every tournament, it would be a hell lot easier for me as organiser, but having the same clans fight eachother the same way everytime would soon lead to boredom and the tournament would wear off.

Arena was way too small for 30 players. It was one big clusterfuck. Us fragile ninjas didnt fare too well cause one lucky pike hit kills us, while plated or shielded cowards could hold out until the smoke cleared out. We were 9 out of 10 rounds in the losing team, so its probably us that made the team lose. So bigger arena and I'm fine with this tourney format.

I wasn't cool enough to play in the qualifiers, but from what I saw and heard it seemed like a novel and fun format. Sure, it might have needed to be a tiny bit bigger but I still saw a massive flanking move in match nine or something, and a lot of teamwork between the clans across the board (SoA pikers just to mention one instance).

Again, it's not like we get anything but fun out of this. If your epeen needs stroking in an ultra-fair manner, seek satisfaction elsewhere?

Thanks again to Fallen, especially Beauchamp (the map was so pretty) and Punisher (so adorable on his pony), a huge bag of fun as always.

Why are you guys so obssesed about the ladder? The fallen trournaments were from the very beggining advertised as a fun tournaments. As far as I gathered, this tournament was fun, both to watch and play.
There is Shogunate tournament now, with more rounds, so the luck factor in minimal. You can freely measure your epeens there.

Fighting in the first two (I think) tournaments gave winners more points then in the followings. Hardly fair. And lastly, why do we even discuss this? The Shogunate tournament seems way more serious to me than this, go prove yourselves there.

The point system never changed, the formula was always LP = (number of clans in the tournament X number of clans in the tournament - final place + 1 X size of clanteams). The first tournaments actually gave less points than the latest ones because of the lower number of clans who participated, but the formula was always the same.

Some qualifiers will be in the classic clan vs clan format, some will be in new formats we want to test (like the 4v4v4 or the current 5x3 vs 5x3), so sometimes luck might play a more important role. Looking back at the past 5 tournaments, every time the best clans went to the finals (with very few exceptions when they were penalized). Finals will always be in a clan vs clan format, as balanced as possible so I see no reason not to award ladder points to the current tournament or to future ones where new qualifying systems might be tried.

As I said before, it would be a lot easier for me as organiser to make the same classic 2 groups clan vs clan qualifiers, than 1 group for finals but this would soon lead to routine and boredom.

This system had 2 advantages: there was no downtime, everybody got to play in every single match, and it led to larger scale 15 vs 15 battles. The disadvantage was that luck had it's role when a clan can't achieve victory by itself, but must cooperate with 2 other clans that might be weaker or stronger - for me it looked like a challenge and considering the previously mentioned advantages it was worth trying.

Also, I am open to suggestions, if you have any ideas about a more balanced qualifying system (appart from the classic one) that wouldn't involve more than 15-20 matches per session feel free to share.

More things to be said... (just my oppinions)

I see more new tournaments systems comming (shogunate, chad's ladder - maybe). These are serious things...

Fallen Tournaments shouldn't compete with these tourneys when it would come to fairnes or seriousness. We have other advantages (more clans at the same time, short event where everybody fights everybody, feel more intensive for more people at the same time, we can use different fighting formats...). But yeah, the cost for this is it is less "fair" sometimes.

I'm not telling I'm aiming for unserious stuff on purpose - the fighting system we used now for qualifiers was never meant to be random. I still kinda believe that the odds were always equall - always 3x5 fighters in the arena on separate TSpeaks - same for everybody. I also believe that if you put 3x5 good fighters against 3x5 bad fighters the result should be that the first team will win. The only difference was that some clans took pikes and crushtrhogh weapons (like Turks and my old friends) and some brought shielders (Mercs), but this comes to your decisions/mistakes (we did the same btw).

To the Ladder - the point will of course go to the Ladder, it was announced and I see no reason why it should be changed. The ladder itself starts to work quite well, I think always somebody will have a bad day or he will go through unlucky tournament where will be more random qualifiers (like this one and Grey Order and you). But this is not a problem in a long run, we had 6 tournaments so far. With more and more played one big blow in one Tournament won't play a role. Also counting of LPTS can change a bit over time (especially in performance ladder)...

Lastly the most important thing
A lot of guys (Mercs mostly) complain. Well why not, but if you complain you should also give some other option/solution. The ideal thing is 100% fun and 100% seriousness at the same time (this can never be achieved, but we can try to get close to it). I said and asked that having always the same qualifiers would make the tournament boring - I haven't got any answer to this (how the qualifiers should look like, if they should always be the same etc...) from anybody here on forums yet. The current idea is to have a bigger stress on FUN in qualifiers and bigger stress on FAIRNESS in finals. The point shoudl be that good clans should make it even through a bit more random qualifiers to the finals, where position from that you qualify plays no role. The finals are than quite FAIR with same chances for everybody...

maybe you could try something with classes

for example a tournament with shielders vs shielders, cav vs cav, ranged vs ranged, it'd look more medievalish and could be quite fun imo

Edit : other suggestion if you want bigger fights could be to do a tournament with 2 clans signing in together, for example Mercs + my old friend, Greys + STR, Risen + Hre, that way people would play together with some more teamplay and always with the same guys in bigger fights

Turks are banned from any future Tournaments organized by Fallen.

Reason: Douchebaggery. You can't read the rules and won't even stick to them after being penalized several times. You started punching again, although the Rules still clearly say NO PUNCHING, NO KICKING, NO FIGHTING OUTSIDE THE OFFICIAL FIGHTS! You got a warning, the player was kicked. You couldn't keep quiet, you started raging without thinking, you were banned. Simple as that, and still correct.

i kicked one guy that was kicking (as i did to anybody else who was doing the same in previous sessions). i know it was for fun, i even thought the rules might change a bit for future tourneys (like you could punch/kick clanmates and shouldn't overuse it ). but still the rules are the same for everybody now and tournament is not the place where they should be discussed. it still was a kick, no big deal...

after this you started to argue, including calling me an idiotic admin (Reyiz). the only thing i replied was that the rules are the same for everybody and asked you if you desire to have special rules only for turks. you kept arguing so i said something like that if you want to keep behaving as retards, there will be in the end no penalty high enough.

during this discussion Kapikulu_HarunYahya was showing me for couple of minutes that i jerk off over my admin rights (by that funny switch weapon mode movement)  - i though that you will stop but if you kept that going for couple of minutes i slashed you over had to make you stop. you continued to do it so i banned you.

aside from that i gave no bans/kicks.

if you don't like the rules that almost everybody else (mostly aside a few randomers) is able to follow than it is really your problem, not mine.

(btw i suppose the bans are displayed as permanent in a chatlog, but in fact they are only for a limited time. like when it comes to the tourney, imo 30 min ban is enough as its only to prevent the player not to come again to the session, but it shouldnt punish anybody to play on the server in the future. ill have to find out the length of bans, for sure nobody should be banned just because of the tournament for a longer time than couple of mins/hours).

edit: i suppose you want to be removed from the ladder system too, right?

If you ensure that that perma bans are vaild for a couple of hours, I'll be cool with that. For the rest of the business, I leave that to both clans' inter relations. Solve it somewhere else ...

shift + ban = temporary 1h ban. only downside is that you can't manually unban.

Our team whole team was complete with a lot of good potential substitutes, but the commands at the Risen vs my old friends was: "Gank the mauler."

In that 6 man combo round against you guys I used a mw danish.

As far as I remember I got atleast 4 kills with a slash...

Remove or change Flamberge.
Historically the most inaccurate, most overpowered and stupid looking weapon this mod has to offer (I say that for ages now and wont stop)

1 hit kill weapons have no right to exist in neither tournaments / crpg.

Nor did i say all the kills were made by the lolstab but i sure got stabbed a lot, luckily i can survive one or two stabs from anyone, and my boys also had their fair share of stabs up their arses, luckily - we are the my old friends, we can take it.  :wink:

Anyways, i never said your victory wasn't deserved, you are good, actually atm i think you are the best.

Besides that, HRE made it through the qualifiers without me.
