General Discussion / I really miss this game :(

Was just thinking to myself how much i miss c-rpg, and how much of a shame it is that it's dead. It'd be really nice to plan a time and date when we try and get all of the old faces back for an evening, might be able to rustle up 30 or so players for a game if we tried hard.

General Discussion / Nudge is Broken

  • Nudge is broken; it removes your block whilst you're moving, and it is very easy to hit a nudge whilst you're moving.
  • Unlike kick, which takes some skill.

  • It's so fast that counter-nudge is almost impossible.
  • I have never seen anyone successfully pull off a counter-nudge.
  • Literally not once.

  • If you're in a 2v1 against people who nudge spam, it's almost impossible to win. So in 2v1 if both players spam it, as a shielder you may as well drop your weapons and give up.
  • If someone spams it in a 1v1, it slows the fight down to an absolute crawl. This means someone can delay a fight almost infinitely until teammates arrive.

  • There's a graphical glitch with the shield nudge whilst not blocking, where if you attack immediately afterwards half the animation doesn't show, meaning a 100wpf attack looks like a 170wpf attack, which certain players are abusing.
  • If you put a 2h sword away, do a nudge with your fists and then you get a free hit. This is not difficult, and i've seen quite a few 2h do this to rack up lots of free kills lately.

  • An absolutely ridiculous number of my deaths (and the number is growing by the day) are now to this win-button, which is honestly making me not want to play, as i'm sure it is to others.

So Professor was talking recently about a new XP system, i don't know what's already been discussed, or what's even possible, but i did have an idea for what could be kinda cool

On EU_3 we have a formula which gives people rank based on the rank of the player they kill.

The idea for the new XP system is that every player gets a 'rating'.

This rating would be based on a mixture of factors,

  • Your win:loss ratio in games
  • The rank of players you kill/die to (you gain more XP for killing a higher ranked player, you lose more for dieing to a low ranked player; the same system currently in place on the duel server)
  • [Side thought, we already have a 'Score' system in-game, it may be possible to use the average of that which a player finishes with at the end of a round over time as a player's rating]

You gain XP based on,

  • How much damage you do to a player, (with you getting more XP the higher the player's rating). This is to prevent people trying to last hit and get all of the XP for a kill
  • If you kill a player (as in score the last hit), you get more XP based on their rating
  • If you win a round you gain an amount of XP
  • This would obviously favour higher level players, so lower level players get more XP (e.g. if a level 20 player kills e.g. Baozi they get 1000 XP, however if a level 34 player kills Baozi they get 300 XP etc.)
  • So that's effectively a higher multiplier the lower your level; you get more XP for winning a round for example if you're a lower level player

I think that this XP system would reward people for how much they contribute to their team winning. I don't know if it's even possible to programme, because i'm a code noob, however it might be cool. Just a thought, let me know what you think

It seems there's been an update to the way it balances people on to teams; it's now 'reshuffling the deck' of players so to speak every single round, not putting friends in the same clan on the same team etc.

Making it impossible to teamwork and not being able to play with your friends :(

Armour reduces WPF based on its weight, but by how much? Let's say I have 100 WPF in 1h and I'm wearing some armour which reduces my WPF, how do I know how much it's reduced my WPF by please?

So what my actual WPF is rather than what it shows on my character screen?

I will carry his flamberge around while he shoots bad guys with his crossbow, and then when it is time for him to kill bad guys with his flamberge, I will carry his crossbow around. I will be his boy.

Compare them to e.g. Javelins, and they're just inferior in every way,

Basically the same accuracy,
Much slower moving through the air (so a lot harder to hit your target),
Smaller model/length (meaning less chance to hit, as a part of the model has to connect with the enemy to damage),
Far far far less damage (37 cut against 32 pierce),
A lot slower to reload (21 against 17), so you can throw your next javelin a lot faster than your next axe,

There's just no reason to use them at the mo'

Please buff them :) at the mo' there's no reason to use them over Jav's

Suggestion: Maybe make them a bit more accurate and reload quite a bit faster than Jav's so there's a reason to use them

Any type of Board Shield could do with a bit of a buff (from the weakest to the heaviest), they're just inferior to other shields at the moment, can we have their stats improved in an update please :)

(I'd suggest lowering their weight to be in line with the round shields, heaters etc. and increasing the resistance to make them a bit more tanky) [EDIT: because crossbows can currently shoot straight through them, which sucks]

At the moment they're too heavy/slow to be useful (thus the reason you never see them loomed and you never see them used), and the fact that they're so thin compared to the round shields means you can be shot in the sides a lot more easily

cRPG Technical problems / WSE2 problem ...

Hey guys, I installed CRPG on my new PC, and it really jitters everywhere when i have WSE2 on, but is absolutely perfectly fine without it on, full FPS no lag whatsoever. My ping is completely stable at 40.

When i play single player or native it's absolutely fine as well, anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

I've recently started playing again, I heard there was some change to the way Ironflesh worked a while back but I can't find any info on it.
Does it effect movement speed or WPF now in some way?
