A Tactical Public Battle?!?!

So I was just playing on eu 1 and playing my standard game, first couple of rounds were a bit of a mess standard sort of thing, but come to the third round and whats this? The infantry and archers were formed up in a tight group, we had cavalry lined up and containing that basic instinct to charge. It wasn't even just the one team :D both teams had actually out of a load of pubbys become two armies with a sense of teamwork and purpose, not relying on individual skill to win but their team mates and every class on the field.

Both teams (50 men each) duked it out for a couple of rounds and everyone had loads of fun, Nobody whined that it was a flat plains map, nobody whined about archers and nobody got bitter when they died. How I see it everyone was really just enjoying being part of a team with some kind of structure, rather than a mob. These couple of rounds has restored all faith in my belief that tactics are not just for clans, but for every player in the world of crpg and that if we try to get this kind of thing to happen as standard, we could all be enjoying the game even more than we already do :D

Peace Out!

It happens. Sometimes a team can be impossible to organize, but if you have a decent crowd that wants to listen and work together, you can make good things happen. All you need is someone who's willing to step up to the plate and take charge.
Don't.

We were talking about this morning. Even teams in terms of cav and infantry on a completely flat open plains map. Turned into a truly epic battle.

No, the other team had much more cav :( (at least their cav beat ours every time :D) But I was shivering standing in the middle of the shieldwall watching 18 cav guys forming up a line at the horizon and I thought "would be epic if they'd all charge with couched lances", and they did o.O
But our shieldwall disbanded somehow, so it wasn't as epic as expected :( Was great fun, though. Regarding the infantry it just needed 2 or 3 shielders following orders by someone and all other shielders followed them (I think it was the black white hoplite and some Legio guy we were always following when advancing :)) while the rest of the infantry got cover behind our shields.

Indeed it was very great fun and I think I recall (at gingerpussy) that game as well, similar situation :D

It seemed everyone really had fun even if they were on the losing side and so maybe this post will be noticed by enough people for some to realise the games potential fun with teamwork incorporated.

I wonder who said that this was a good idea from the beginning...

Anyways I totally agree. Although I still have nightmares about those pikewalls it is still really fun when pubs gather together in teamwork :D
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

We need more positive threads/posts like this, seeing many other leave threads for their disappointment in this wonderful community is just disheartening.

I read: A Tactical Public Bath
+1 from me good sir, I was thinking near the same thing.
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.
