The biggest bottleneck right now is actually that we don't have a lot of time to code right now. So, we are wondering if anyone would be interesting in joining our team as a coder. It would be mostly new strat features, but also learning the warband module system (which is actually pretty funny to code, if you have some talent).
It's not really urgent, but if we see someone that could fit the team, we'd be interested in giving it a try.
Also, it's not really the coding skill that is the most important factor for us, but if you are a person we like spending time with. Because it's a hobby, after all. Also, IRC is used for most of the communication, obviously.
So what we can offer is
- a lot of unwarrented rage from the community for new features,
- immoral bastards nagging you to cheat for them,
- hookers, in all different qualitites and quantities
We're mostly working in batches, so code nonstop for a day, then do nothing for a week. Something like that.
Edit: Also, for the ratio, it would be best if you were american and female.
Edit2: and black.
hm, interesting.
I guess you don't mean hookers, but a hitch somewhere...?
seriously:
coding is not exactly my weapon of choice, though I did some stuff in c# and processing and therefore really know the basics of coding - aaand I'm a fast learner if necessary (php would be new to me). you only know me for making the loading screens, but I can do a lot more. 3D modelling, photoshop editing, animation, conception, interface design.
... things I didn't do, and that's where I'm quite insecure, is using the module system and creating 3D/animations which this game will take - I failed here, because I couldn't afford the time. this might be my chance to learn it.
what I also have is a head full of theory about games, plus I'm good at creating ideas how to implement certain game defining ... stuff. I think this game design knowledge is the most important thing I could possibly contribute to building strategus.
I have worked with teams before, my feedback to what I did in this community was always positive (afaik), and I'm easy going.
and now, very important to add: my time is borrowed - I'm a student ... and I have this workshop which I won't give up ...
I think it's just fair to point that out, because if you want me, you have me; if you look for a pure coder and/or don't need an allrounder right now, that's all fine and maybe the best choice if you don't want to fight with game design decisions and my ideas on them.
consider, I'll be around.
so far.
Kajia
edit: I'll gladly ignore your offers. for now.
edit2: idc about this your ratio.
