Pay no heed to the background, I didn't feel like cropping

I'm quite certain (after glancing at both for 5 seconds) that the two are identical, but I thought I'd upload em both just in case.

if there is a new patch - yes. If you change files after the patch, it will stay as is till the next patch (unless you tick 'force update')

Do not like.  Will not use if I can avoid it.  Some of these mods are kind of a pain (metal sounds being one of them).

Ideally, the updater should not verify all files unless I tell it to.  By default it should update only files with new changes to them.  (Or by default it can "verify all" but make an advanced option to disable this behavior.)  Basically supply it with a list of changed files and it will only verify those.
Crush your enemies; see them driven before you; hear the lamentations of their women.

Also, how does this program choose its installation path? I've got two copies of m&b (steam and no steam) installed, will it install itself to both?

Used it first time
had preinstalled banner pack
win 7

Had errors (crash) on downloading specific files, one was the bannerpack texture file, one was some 13th century .brf or smthing
manualy deleting the file would fix it /autopatch redownloaded it/ then crash on next, delete, fixed... etc.

about 4-5 times and it "went thru" all the way

otherwise worked

Didnt even have warband installed for some time, downloaded it from, Taleworlds, instaled the launcher, ran it and was done and ready to go in like 10 mins.

good job.
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

Good point. Will add a local list of checksums, so that files will be downloaded only if the patch changed them.

Also, how does this program choose its installation path? I've got two copies of m&b (steam and no steam) installed, will it install itself to both?

By default it will use the non-Steam path first. However, if you put it in the Warband main directory or in the cRPG mod directory of a particular installation, it will use that one.

To the guys having crashes, did it ever occur to you that posting the error message/log may be a good idea?

xD
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

Erm, not sure if this is relating to the launcher (I'm sure it is), but I've been unable to join NA_1, as every time I do and it loads up, warband instantly crashes. I didn't have this problem before the launcher, so that's what the problem is me thinks.

EDIT: Same with NA_2, but I was able to join NA_3 :\

tried the launcher today and had some issues.

First off Norton Anti-virus considers it dangerous and would not let me install it. Had to turn it off to install.

Ran the updater and it went a while but eventually errored out

wsa loader by cmp (build date nov 6 2011)
You are running an unsupported version of warband
The warband script enhancer only supports version 1.143

I am using Steam Warband and I am on 1.143. Least that is the last patch i ran and what it says for version when I run the game.

Worked out well for me on steam. In addition, it stopped steam from overriding my regular cd-key with my laptop cd-key, which was a nice bonus.

The goal of Strategus battles shouldnt be to deprive your enemies of players, but to have full roster both sides and have the gear/tactics/strategy win the day rather than lack of merc support.
