Welcome to Strategus. If you are reading this, I assume you to be either an officer of Dracul or another clan seeking information on how to properly control a faction. Maybe you’re just someone curious, looking for answers that no one else has provided. Regardless, this manual will cover several topics to improve one’s general understanding of Strategus. The information covered is basic and written for Strategus 4.
Ranks and Guidelines. This section may only apply to those in Dracul.
Dracul is co-leaded by Artyem and Deltah, general affairs controlled by the ASS PRINCE and Strategus and cRPG affairs controlled by the LAW.
Officers are elected by Artyem and Deltah, people may apply for the position but are not guaranteed a secure role as Officer. In order for one to be selected, they must be trusted by the entire clan and must be a Dragoni of Valahia, no lower ranks are accepted.
An Officer’s responsibility is to control and manage the faction during the absence of a leader. They are themselves leaders, who must be capable of:
Giving commands to others.
Dealing with diplomatic issues.
Managing Strategus, this includes gear, troops, and proper division of supplies.
Proper Dracul Etiquette. We are a neutral faction, we only cooperate with our allies and stay out of other affairs unless it relates directly to our diplomatic position (e.g. defense pacts, alliances, NAP). When war is engaged, we fight fearlessly and bravely in an organized manner.
Proper Division of Responsibility Generally a Strat Faction should be broken down into:
Leaders
Officers
Veterans
Recruits
Leaders and Officers do a number of tasks, pretty much what everyone else does. However, they have the added task of managing others, which gets rather irritating. They are also in charge of diplomacy and foreign relations.
Veterans generally own fiefs and run armies, as well as conduct trade runs. They are the main force and backbone of a faction, they are trusted and respected and are usually willing to do whatever task is at hand.
Recruits are the foundation of a faction, however they are usually not 100% trustworthy. This is why recruits most often sit in a fief farming tickets, occasionally given light or menial tasks to build trust and respect.
Someone who is given a moderate to large sum of troops, gear and gold should be trusted. The owner of a fief should not also be in the field, as they may be required to manage and maintain the fief they own should it come under attack. Anybody can give items to a fief, but only the owner may remove items from the fief, which becomes vital after repeated attacks.
