Take out the rediculous and game ruining repairs.

I think taking out repairs would improve everyones gameplay, ill proabably get a few complaints "oh theyres gonna be tin cans running around" well thats their choice, you can choose what you want to be. I want to be a crusader RP'er, i have all the gear but guess what, im too broke to wear the gear so i have to become something that doesnt make me want to play the game. Seems everyone in most matches agrees with me. Repairs are rediculous.

Yes you are? Beta, anyone?

As a general reply:
Not sure why I'm even repeating that, but there were two options.

- total wipes in frequent intervals,
- upkeep

If you don't see the necessity for either of those, please stay the fuck away from game design.

As for the OP wanting to RP as a classic crusader, please give me the items that you want to use, out of curiosity (the exact ones please)

Great Helmet (Damaged as of now)
Heraldic Mail With Tabard
Splinted Greaves With Spurs
Mail Mittens
Double Sided Lance (Damaged as of now)
Heavy Heater Shield (Damaged as of now)
Rouncey (Damaged as of now)

I do not have the money to repair these causing me to go naked or use my ugly and ineffective nomad armor which overall ruins my game experience and then i proceed to log off.

Upkeep in and of itself is not a problem.

My character with the cheapest gear runs around in 13k worth of gear.

My most expensive character runs around in 37k worth of gear.

Both are easily sustainable with upkeep even if I DIDN'T have a dump truck full of money. A lot of people complain about upkeep because they say they can't afford their equipment. That I think is bullshit. Other people complain about it because veteran players have so much money that they don't have to worry about upkeep. Don't you think that they should have some type of reward for playing a lot longer than you? Also, you can easily get a ton of money by retiring once and selling your heirloom point.

The big problem with upkeep is that it makes certain builds not viable, which really hurts the fun factor. I think this could be solved by re-balancing certain items in the game, making slight changes to the upkeep system and adding additional gold sinks.

When I say "slight changes to upkeep", I'd like the really high-tier stuff to cost more and the mid-tier and lower to cost less.

When I say "additional gold sinks" I'd like to see a new respec where you don't lose xp, but you lose a shit-ton of gold.

Yeah, noob tincans spamming around never blocking while ur weapons were bouncing off them... sure was fun!
No but seriously, the upkeep is there to make sure there is no "old versions of Lady gaga's" (full plated knight on plated charger every single round). The upkeep is here, and it's gonna stay that way. cRPG is a lot better that way.

Also, the upkeep is not a problem if you don't crutch on ur equipment and you use less expensive gear in 1-2 multies and keep ur best gear for when ur in 3-4-5 multi. I use an average/light gear and im getting richer and richer every round, even in 1x.
What you can do if you want that much to be in ur crusader gear:
1- make a single gen using only light gear.
2- pile up money.
3- Retire.
4- Sell ur heiloom point.
5- Get even more money.
6- Enjoy ur full gear cuz ull be rich.

But again, u can enjoy the game with no money worries as long as u dont wear expensive gear at 1-2x.

The point is chadz said he wanted an even lighter set of standard equipment then what even the old upkeep gave. Since he posted such on the forum, I think it is pretty pointless to ask for higher armour being more common considering this was not a game balance decision but one made out of personal preference from chadz.

Also, we wanted to see lower priced equipment in general.

Maybe he wants a more "real-ish" representation of armour? It was odd that you could sustain coat of plates or heraldric transitional with minimal effort using the old upkeep.

Might as well remove the plate if he wants to see lighter armor.
And thats a bullshitty decision that totally contradicts the spirit of the mod.

He is under the impression that skilled players can obtain the "Thy Honor" thing that sustains a high multiplier for you with enough regular consistency to use higher stuff. I dunno... That "Thy Honor" text is remarkably rare even for top players.

I like upkeep. It keeps people from using the best gear for their class 100% of the time. The game would be incrediblely boring if everyone plated up most of the time. As it is now there is a lot of variety in the armor you see and some in the weapons (but not nearly as much since I imagine people are willing to sacrifice defensive capability to be able to put out more damage).

Maybe for a small time, but people would realise its not that good, besides whats wrong with that, bad people will remain bad even with their plate.

Dont waste your time, they will keep saying everyone and the dog was using plater armor prepatch... when its actually a big lie....btw most plate users dropped it when the first wpf nerf and that was without upkeep... the horses were another history, but then again you needed 24 agi to actually use one of those "big" horses...old crpg went out of control not by the expensive horses or plate armor users, it went out of control coz there wasnt a level cap in place saying the contrary is retarded, and i tell you again, i didnt have any troubles to kill tin cans who where 10 levels higher than me in the old crpg... and that was with ping 130... so what is the deal?...
